The location is excellent, this resort is located in Playa Norte, a prime location. Our room was located in the north end within a few feet from the king's pool. We stayed in the villas. The room was okay, it did not have the microwave as listed in the description, which was a disappointment because we had a baby who drinks warm milk. The villa was small and it had nothing special for an upgrade, it is just a room with balcony. The food is not good, for the price, this resort needs to re-think how to strategize a way to offer better food. The specialty restaurants offer the same food, which is basic and absolutely not worth the price tag this resort charges for night. Drinks are so cheaply made to say the least. I understand this resort is in a prime location but they should put some effort into investing in their structures. The pool was was run down, and closed down for almost four days during our stay. The pool was not needed but it makes the resort look like a 2 start resort. The service was okay for the most part, it seems that they do invest in training their employees. Our first impression of the customer service was 1 out of ten with ten being the highest. We arrived at the front desk, and were greeted by the time share staff, not a positive experience. The staff at the front desk are absolutely not friendly and the staff at restaurant ignored us the first day. We sat there and nobody offered us a drink. This was improved, which was a plus. Overall, 5.5 out of 10.

Staff was really rude (moody) 😒 we paid for an all inclusive and we were limited to a 1 restaurant (buffet) wich had a very limited menu with only 1 day reservations to a restaurant wich was good but other than that everything else was bad. Service drinks everything. Dont waist your money. Its better to stay at cancun and just reserved a trip to isla mujeres just to spend a day and go back at night to cancun. The view was really nice but experience was baaad.

There were some particular parts of the property that could used some extra attention such as the beach. The food was so so. Also, if you book through Expedia, you get singled out with a different color arm band with a little different treatment. Some of the staff such as JC who waited on us several days on the beach and Miguel were fantastic. We will consider the Mia again but at the same time will also consider other places as well.

The staff did the best they could in trying to put a good light on a bad situation. Most staff we spoke to were well aware of the conditions an embarrassed as they walked us through all tge dead birds, Ford’s firing on the walk way as we passed by and the horrendous smell from all tge bird facies and dead birds, the pavers that make up the walkways were so degraded and uneven or missed that my wife and I nearly fell several times before just stopping and turning around to get away from all this disgusting stench. As we went back toward the main building people headed to their Villas were covering their noses and mouthed trying to get through the smell

A Total Scam – Stay Away! Total Disappointment – Misleading and Overpriced This hotel was a complete disappointment and a huge scam. The online photos and descriptions have nothing to do with reality. The property is poorly maintained, with peeling walls, broken showers, and leaking air conditioners. One of our rooms had water from the shower flooding into the bedroom, and although someone came to “fix” it, the shower remained unusable. No room change was offered. In another room, the AC dripped onto our suitcase, soaking it completely. The mattress in the main room was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The second room had slightly better beds, but still far below expectations for a hotel charging over $500 per night. The all-inclusive food was terrible — we ate at the hotel once, then chose to dine elsewhere for the rest of our 3-night stay. The beach was dirty, full of seaweed with a terrible smell that made it unusable. We had to go to public beaches every day instead. To make things worse, the staff spent most of their time trying to sell us tours. Once we declined, they became cold and unhelpful. When we checked out, no one even helped with our luggage. We are a family of five and had planned this vacation for months. It turned out to be a major disappointment. This hotel is rundown, misleading, and does not deserve your money. Avoid it at all costs.

The property is in a great location on the island on the north side. The property itself is very rundown. The service was great and the food was OK. There weren’t as many food options as we have had at other all inclusive resorts.

I just had the WORST vacation ever at Mia Reef Resort. Everything there smells like dead mussels. The room was extremely small and uncomfortable. Everything closes at 10 pm, no organization at all, and there are ZERO activities except some live music on Saturday. The beach was full of seaweed and they never cleaned it – while all the hotels next to it cleaned their beaches every day. I had to pay extra money for an umbrella at another beach because I couldn’t let my kids go into that disgusting water. The food was horrible – even the pasta with white sauce had onions in it, completely unappetizing. Our bathroom got blocked twice and smelled terrible the whole time. Overall, this place was a huge waste of money and ruined our vacation. I do NOT recommend it to anyone.
