Let me start by saying the staff was absolutely amazing—other than the counter boy, who looked annoyed that he had to help me check in. The food was disgusting, with not many authentic Mexican flavors. The rooms were very outdated and smelly, and the bathroom shower had mold. We were booking excursions just so that we didn’t have to be there. We chose to eat at different restaurants because the food at the resort was not good.

The property was very clean, grounds was well kept and beautifully manicured. The food all over the property was awful. The showers grout between the tiles were dirty and unsightly. Fixtures were failing off example door handle of room # 222. I was given a room with 1 bed after i specifically asked for 2 beds. When i asked to get it replaced it was told they couldn't give me another room and that they were fully booked. I insisted and that was when i was moved to 224 but the room was hot constantly because the ceiling is divided and hence leaving one side of room cool and the other very hot. I called front desk and they never came. The beds were uncomfortable and showers was nasty. Since, the room is next to the snack area it was harder to fall asleep and woken up earlier due to staff and patrons moving and chatting loudly.The nightly events shouldn't go beyond 10 for a family resort. I usually had to wait until those activities were over before I'd go to bed.

The best part of our stay was the staff. Occidental has some pretty amazing staff working there. The food.. you can always find something you will like. The drinks, were good as well. Again, you can always find something to drink. Wish they had coke products. Not a fan of Pepsi.

The pool was nice. Restaurants for dinner were nice. AC went out one night and they were unable to fix it. They came in and out of the room 4 times, never answered the front desk or housekeeping phones. At 3am, We finally decided to sleep outside by the pool. We got a new room the next day. Bad service at the towel station by the pool. Disgruntled employee.

The property and pool are gorgeous. The beach area is small. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating. Limited dining options. Air conditioner never got below 75 degrees, couldn’t cool off entire stay.

We absolutely loved this resort! The level of service was top notch! The only downside is if you go to the pool mid afternoon the seats are all taken up but the beach has plenty of seats available. I wasn't a fan of the Italian restaurant but who goes to Mexico for Italian food lol. Our 2nd night we chose the seafood restaurant which was better but the waiters rushed you every second so it was hard to really enjoy our meals. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this resort for our family & friends.
