The hotel it’s ok, the rooms pretty dated, you feel like you’re going back to the 80’. The staff was very nice and helpful, very good customer service. The pool is nice , very big pools but it does smelled like sewer. The beach is nice .

The staff was so nice and accommodating! Truly made our experience. We went for a last minute getaway and it was perfect. We enjoyed the shows and loved the beach club party. The room was clean and they gave lots of towels. The buffet was nice to pick what you like. The restaurants aren’t anything special but for an all inclusive, it works. Drinks are amazing and definitely get the “spicy mango shot”! Would definitely go back!

Room was ok, staff was pleasant but except for the steak house and Italian restaurant the food was poor! We have stayed at other RIU properties so know that many are much better.

The Riu Palace Peninsula is by far one of the best all inclusive resorts I have stayed at. The food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. There are several pools on site as well as several beach locations. Rooms were cleaned every day as well. Also, if you have an upgraded adults only rooms you have access to other Riu in the area and what they have to offer. Highly recommend the Riu Palace Peninsula.

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our son’s 17th birthday, and the experience was ruined by unprofessional and aggressive behavior from the animation staff. A staff member (Sofia) disrespected my son over a volleyball. Later, another staff member (Alejandro) confronted me aggressively over the same ball, telling me I had “problems” and that my family should leave the hotel if we didn’t like the rules. We tried to avoid both staff members, but Alejandro later followed us to the beach volleyball area, confronted me in front of other guests, and then called security while misrepresenting the situation. Management dismissed everything as a “misunderstanding” without reviewing cameras or investigating. My wife and son no longer felt safe. Despite requesting intervention, the staff member remained working near us for the rest of our stay. I travel frequently and visit Cancun several times a year. This was my first stay with RIU—and it will be my last.

We ended up in the 6th floor. We came across roaches- 5 of them. Staff came to our door and said they are spraying for mosquitoes. What a joke. Amenities- could be better. The pool was not heated and the weather was not good. You could not do anything. The elevator - 1 of them is very slow, imagine if there is an emergency. Although checking in was good- I requested , over 40 days to give me connecting rooms as I traveling with child and nanny. It was an inconvenience. Food, was food , not great.
