We booked a swim up, the room was spacious and the swim up was great. The water was always cool so it was great to take a dip after a hot day in the sun. There were plenty of food options and, to my pleasant surprise, the food quality was great compared a lot of other resorts we have visited. I would definitely recommend Royalton Riviera to those that want a great time and great food.

We have stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun a number of times, and we very much enjoyed our last stay. One thing we really love about the resort is the kids club. Our son, who is seven, enjoys hanging out there, and we enjoy the time to ourselves. All of the caretakers are friendly and kind. If you have children, you can feel comfortable and confident leaving them in the hands of Carolina, Alberto, Juanita, Lulu, and Mari. Our biggest complaint was the food, as options have changed (i.e. no filet at the steakhouse anymore), and the quality, overall, was not as good as on previous visits. We recommend this resort for both families and couples.

The building we were in was being renovated, therefore there was noise from 7 am - 6 pm. The rooms are clean and spacious. Pools are very nice, but close at 7 pm. You need to make reservations for specialty restaurants via an app. By the time you get in there, all the reservations are taken. We mostly ate at the buffet because we didn’t need a reservation there. The omelette and taco chefs were super nice and friendly. The waitstaff were also very nice and attentive. Restaurants close at 10 pm. Only late service is room service. Which is included in the package, which was a nice amenity. The shows were good and entertaining.

I really liked the resort. Everyone was nice and helpful. The different activities for adults and kids. The only thing I didn’t like was the mosquitoes and not having a jacuzzi for people that are not diamond members.

Overall, I don’t recommend Royalton Reveira resort to anyone. Started with room- had go back and forth to active our keys for two days. If you are not in dimond club, you don’t get any reservations to any restaurant, staff keep recommending to book thru app but you cannot make any reservations because dining club’butler reserved and nothing is available for non diamond club. We spent over 4 hours to make a reservation after arguing with staff. When we went restaurant, staff rushed you and you can’t enjoy dinning experience. Drinks were Watertown. When we asked for Don Julio, bar attendant said no and asked if we’re dimond club and few minutes later when I sent my friend, there were no question about dumbos club and she got two shorts of DonJulio. They are very greedy people ask for money every time they serve you. When you are in all inclusive, all restaurants are free to use but they make difficult to enjoy. One of my friend requested to decorate our room for our anniversary and nothing was done. They seriously dropped the quality. Find better resort if you want don’t waste your money and don’t want to spend your quality time in aggravations.

The property was great, only thing that wasn’t great was the Royalton app, it never worked for me and I used two phones. So we weren’t able to make reservations for the restaurants. Everything else was awesome!

It's the oldest of the Royalton resorts so there were lots of repairs, renovations etc going on. The forst room were put in had tons of ants coming theough a crack in the wall and all over our stuff. We co.plained numerous times and some of the staff just laughed it off until someone turned up to fumigate the rooms at 11pm while our 2 little kids were asleep. The guy barely spoke engliah and insisted 'no toxic'. The ants persisted and after maling a fuss the next day and spending a morning complaining about it, we were finally moved to another room the next evening. The bath tubs had black mould and when we turned on the jacuzzi jets in the bath tubs, copious amounts of black sediment came shooting out. Apart from that, the resprt overall is well maintained and many of the staff work hard.

It was difficult making dinner reservations, there was never an opening, not to much dining options. Also the hotel should have free transfers to the other hotels within the same property. We paid $40 for a 2min drive to Royalton splash!

Good morning. I would like to say a little something about Royalton Riviera Cancun. This resort was atrocious - if this is a Marriott property, then Marriott should be ashamed of themselves. My wife and I were stung by at least 60 mosquitos - after using “Off”, from the moment our group got there; all specialty restaurants were booked for the entire visit. The buffet served the same food for lunch and dinner every day; after paying for an excursion, our van pulled over on the highway while meeting another man in a truck and demanded $20.00 per person - only cash/no credit card, or we can’t go any further (we thought we were being kidnapped); after reporting the mosquito bites at the diamond club, we were told to buy meds at the convenient store on the property (neosporin & Advil = $78.00 U.S.); the room was terrible - 1st we paid extra for a King suite and they tried to stick us with a double - but once we finally received our king, it was terrible - maintenance was bad, corrosion in the tub, light fixtures thrown together, phone with no cord, dead mosquitos all on the wall from previous guests, cracks in the wall, sewage smell every evening, areas on the door where someone may have previously tried to break in; also, prices on item within the resort were gauged terribly, including meds. Beware of this location….i do not recommend it, and don’t you recommend it ….it’s like an expensive, high end prison. And yes, I have photos along with plenty more bad information.
