Please have a sign that is clearly visible from the road with the name of the inn and not the chain. I was very confused that all I could see was 'marstons' and not 'spread eagle'

I have stayed at this hotel several times and it always had a welcoming atmosphere but not this time.When I booked in it was though they did not want me there.I asked for a room tab and although on previous occasions they have set one up this time they would not but offered me a pre payed credit of £25 for each night which I took.I didn’t use that credit on the 2nd night but am still awaiting a refund.As I booked out online I expected them to to e-mail me a break down of my bill but I am still waiting.
