I can't speak for warmer weather, but we stayed in December. The main hotel was closed, which we were not told when booking. We were looking for the Christmas experience. There was no contact with any hotel staff. We stayed in what they called the Southern Quarters, a separate building that housed 6 rooms. Even though the room had heat it was very cold. We were very cold all night. The floors were like ice. The bathroom was freezing! I don't think there was any heat in there. I would not recommend staying here in the cold weather.

Although only part of the hotel is opened this time of year, I enjoyed this lovely clean , quiet property perfect for my visit to Cape May.I look forward to a return stay when this charming hotel is fully opened with it's restaurant and rocking chair porch ..a step back in time...

We had a wonderful couple days in Cape May. Chalfonte was nice but we weren't in the main building due to it being closed for the season. Would like to stay again but in the actual hotel next time.

The Chalfont is an old Victorian hotel. In the off-season you stay in the Southern Quarters. There are 9 rooms on 3 floors. Rooms 1-3 are on the first floor and the heat is controlled by one main thermostat in the hallway. Once the outside temps dropped so did the room temperature. The hallway temperature was 56. The bathroom tile floor is freezing and it took forever for the sink water to heat up. Outside of the temps, the room was nice, the bed was comfortable, nice TV with many stations. Everything is within walking distance.

If you like old world history this historical hotel is for you. My visit was during off season so didn't get to experience the hotel in full swing. Had nice amenities for being an old building.

I was pleasantly surprised that this room had a TV. I seen them advertise that they didn't offer any TV's in their rooms, but this place is so big that most of the other rooms might not have one. The bathroom was very nice. The shower was big. It was very clean. The hotel is also close to the mall so I made several trips on for. Also did a trolley ghost tour and found out that this place has a few ghosts. Which makes it a bit more interesting. I will definitely look into this place in the future.
