Very Good value for Camps Bay and literally 1 minute from the beach and cafe's. Beachside was clean and the staff were friendly but the room was perhaps a little dated by modern standards.
Great location! Restaurants, supermarket, and the ocean are within two blocks.

Great locale, but note limited check-in hours
Anywhere in Camps Bay should have a five star local area review... I've stayed in Camps Bay frequently. Only a three minute walk down a couple blocks straight to the beach and my favorite restaurants. The room was clean. Some things like the carpet and built in closet are a bit dated and could use a refresh. Hot water in shower. I was surprised that there was no A/C and only a floor fan - in hotter months, if you plan to spend any time indoors, keep this in mind. Balcony is shared with other rooms and has a nice view of Table Mountain but can be noisy from other guests. The pool area is a bit over-hyped by the photos, as it's not really that inviting. A nice perk is that they have beach towels that you can use to take down to the beach. Two major improvements needed are to provide an alternate mobile phone number to guests and more flexible check-in options - (1) reception for this place (which only has like 6 rooms) is opened limited hours, and calls aren't forwarded to a mobile phone. Thankfully, a staff member was there to let me in but created some unnecessary anxiety since they said I must arrive by 6 pm. And if anything goes wrong outside of very limited reception hours, you're on your own. (2) This guesthouse needs to work out more flexible times/options for check-in and could learn from AirBnB on how to do so...
Guesthouse was fine, but photos misleading. The hot tub on the balcony is for the 'pent house apartment' attached to the property but not part of the main guest house. Advised not to drink the water from the tap- although no bottles of water left in the rooms/no fridge to keep water etc.
Located in Camps Bay, a quiet, wealthy suburb about a ten minute drive from the CBD (or between 5 and 10 USD on Uber) depending on time of day and traffic.
I had a great room with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Very clean. Room is cleaned daily by staff.
Towels are not changed daily, even if you make it clear you want some fresh ones. Reception is only manned a few hours a day. There is no restaurant in the premises. There is a fridge and stove if you want to cook yourself. Beachfront restaurants are two blocks away with a wide range of prices and foods.
After a week downtown, I was happy to get out to quiet Camps Bay. I would happily go back.
Perfect hotel that’s a 5 minute walk to the beach. Large rooms that provide good value, bathrooms are spacious and clean as well. Rooms on the higher floors have a great view of the ocean and Table Mountain.
Situated on the hillside above the beach there are both great views and easy access to the beach and Table Mountain. The staff was great and the facility has everything you need. It was a lovely place and clean. Just make sure to bring your own tolitries. Parking is a bit tight but is available.
Good location but the room needs TLC....old towels, replacement of light globes. Having to struggle with street parking, the extremely small shower and constant thumping of footsteps from the upper room made it an unpleasant experience.
I had 8 days to spend in Cape Town and chose Beachside in Camps Bay as my stay. That choice turned out to be the best choice of my trip! An incredible place to stay in an incredible town. Wonderful people working at Beachside, so very helpful and willing to answer all of my questions. My room was named The Atlantic, and as a corner room had breathtaking view of of the Atlantic up the center of Camps Bay beach and of the 12 Apostles mountains. The room was clean and well kept and very comfortable. Sitting on my large balcony having morning coffee looking out over Camps Bay will be missed very much! Thank you to Gift and the rest of the staff at Beachside for making my stay a memory of a lifetime.

We really enjoyed our stay. Gift is very friendly and welcoming. The room was small but adequate but there was no air conditioning, which would have been a huge factor in summer. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no door on the bathroom. So although the lo tucked around the corner, one doesn't feel comfortable using the loo while someone else is in the room.
Thought was a little expensive in relation to hotels previously stayed in during this trip along the garden route, but guess you paying to be near the city of Cape Town.
Was clean and spacious, with a balcony - however the people staying in the room next door were unaware they were sitting on our part of the balcony i.e. outside our balcony door.
Large shared kitchen and lounge (which were lovely) came as a surprise to me - I obviously did not read the room description adequately! And for that reason would not stay again - but other people could well be really happy with that kind of set up, but not for me.
Overall good place to stay in Camps Bay and close to the bus stop for the red tour bus.
Just 2 blocks from the beach in a safe neighborhood. Friendly staff. Guests have use of a large kitchen and patio area. Some excellent restaurants/bars within walking distance.

Great hotel, but...
This was a great hotel, but it wasn't maintained so well. Five other friends and I took the 3 bedroom penthouse and were impressed with the room, the location and the view. But we had some issues with how the place was maintained. The door handle on the bathroom door of the master bedroom was broken and entirely fell off at the first pull, then the door wouldn't close. Aside from that, one of the rooms didn't have air conditioning, which wasn't mentioned before. Otherwise a great place.

Great location; Superb View
We stayed in the Beachside Penthouse Suite. The view was superb and the three bedrooms suited our family well. It's proximity to restaurants and the beach was also a huge plus. Beachside staff was helpful and available whenever we needed them. The property is starting to show some age and needs to be updated before it gets too far out of condition.
This is a guest house not a hotel. I did not feel comfortable that a small key was only room lock and no phone in bedroom. Two blocks off main strip, but seems far at night. We didn't feel safe, I would book hotel on Bat front if I was returning to Cape Town and a hotel to offer assistance with arranging tours.
