Facilities were spotless. Service from all staff we met was great. Thank you especially to the receptionist who remained very polite and friendly when i was a bit stressy during check in! Welsh cakes at reception was a nice touch. Downstairs common areas are modern. Location very convenient for anywhere in the city centre. Room decor a bit more dated but still very clean. A standard room with double bed, was approx £130 plus parking £20 and breakfast £17pp was extra. Parking was 1st come 1st served, no booking in advance. I have paid less for much more luxurious accommodation in other places, but it was one of the better priced hotels i could find for Cardiff (with the 'has parking' filter). No complaints about our stay, the customer service and location were the main things i would return for.

The reason I gave average was that the room needed updating a bit tired. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful. We ate at the restaurant and the food was lovely. We would return when we visit relatives.

They have parking available if you need to park a car. It is within walking distance to malls , so plenty of options for convenience shopping , eateries etc. Opposite Bute Park and the Cardiff Castle.

The room was clean and tidy but a little tired. There was no overhead lighting just a lamp above the bed and a very small table lamp which was insufficient to use to get ready by. The room was extremely hot and no air conditioning. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very good.

Life is too short for you to stay at this property. I was a sardine stuck in a stinky can! I’ve never had a room so small. I literally had to move a chair out of the way and stick it by the front door in order to open a suitcase. The bed was hard, and the hallway was dark and dank. Probably one of the worst nights sleep I’ve had in the last 25 years. This hotel is in terrible need of an overhaul and to get out of the 1980s. The best part is when I left! Some horrible things you just need to leave behind you…
