Pay per use facilities

The hotel is nice enough. It’s a 5 minute walk from the city centre. However, as with many Mercures I’ve stayed at, there was not enough parking so I had to go to an NCP. Also they advertise as having a pool and a gym - but you gotta pay extra to use it which seems a bit off for residents and something I’ve never come across before. Long wait to check in and out.

It was well placed for walking into city centre. Restaurant was only average. It was annoying to have to pay £10 to use pool as on the first day, we only had time for a 40 minute stay in the pool area. Staff were all lovely.

Our stay for 2 nights in Cardiff was lovely. The hotel was spacious but it would have been good to have a quiet area to sit in during the day. We were going to eat in the restaurant on the night we arrived. However we found the menu rather predictable. However what made us change our mind about eating in was the horrendous noise coming up from the floor below us, the function room we were told. It made the room literally vibrate and it made me a little queasy.

Not a hotel I would choose to stay in.

Parking was a nightmare! The hotel car park was full and trying to find another car park was not easy. Paying at the NCP car park was a pain. I had to download the app and it would not let me register my card. It took me an hour and a half to park my car. I also had to queue at Reception as there was only one receptionist at my he desk. We came to a Tennis Presentation function. The food served was very mediocre. Also, the bar on the First Floor closed at 11pm!

The staff were lovely! The hotel was amazing. However the only two things I would say were slightly disappointing was for the balloons and banners birthday package I was told this included balloons (plural) but only found one and two small banners. The other thing is that I paid for a king bed in the privilege suites and got given two single mattresses stuck together. Other than This the food was amazing and great service. Probably the best hotel in Cardiff. Didn’t feel the safest in the area, but fine if you plan to stay in the hotel and leave for day trips.

Amazing stay again at the Mecure. Very busy but didn’t make any difference! We’ve been here a few times now. The amazing staff and the spa is defo a place to relax and enjoy whilst at the hotel.

Nowhere stated i had to pay £21 for parking, used card details as believed this was for standard for hotels as a guarentee yet card tapped and £21 taken out of my account. Could not use water after 9.p.m due to a shortage. So coming in from a concert and having to gonto bed covered in spilt alchol and sweat was not a nice experience, would have asked for a replacement hotel if we knew before check-in. Brekfast was not worth money paid for and selection of drinks at the bar was limited due to half of it being out of stock. Room and Hotel itself lovely and one of the comfiest beds slept in a hotel
