Really disappointed in stay, bedroom dirty the bathroom was filthy, most of everything in bedroom didnt work properly or was broken. The bar was meant to shut at 01.00hrs but bloke closed it at 00.00hrs as he couldnt be arsed to serve anyone anymore despite 7 people being in bar! If anyone stays be sure to take a screwdriver with you, your going to need one!

The property it’s self was amazing and staff were always there if needed the customer service was outstanding however the room we stayed in was extremely small I wish it was advertised more as a smaller room not a regular room but I know now for next time too look at the rooms ahead before staying

the carpets were filthy ,mould and broken glass in windows ,we was given a front room above the bar area ,and function sweet ,great views ,but the noise from the function sweet shook the room no chance of sleeping ,if they had told me there was a wedding and our room was above it i would not of booked ,sticking with the tried and trusted from now on and would of been cheaper

Few improvements and a lovely place to stay

Hotel has loads of potential. Bar area is really nice and so is the lobby. Room was really large and comfortable bed. What let it was the condition of the carpet on the stairs (really dirty) and the room carpet and bathroom floor was not very clean. The staff were really nice and friendly and very professional.

The property is your standard hotel, slightly below average. Could be better in terms of services. Basic room with no fridge, very small waste bin, constantly have to ask for clean linen or towels (if staying longer than 2 nights), could do better with breakfast service/options.

Loved it!!

Loved it. I was seeing a band in Cardiff and picked this hotel as it was close to the train station. Couldn’t have been happier with the service and the hotel. Not going to claim it’s 5 stars but it met all my needs and the late night bar was perfect for a refreshing drink after getting back from the gig.

Ok for a night

The Hotel was fine for 1 night, however the room was pretty rough around the edges. Carpet was stained, decor could do with an all round refresh. Corridors did have a bit of a damp smell to them. On a positive note the staff were very polite and accomodating and we managed to get a parking spot. However there is limited parking.

Good service, but awful room.

The man on the desk was excellent and very apologetic about the issues that we had - the room door lock was poorly fitted and did no work, the sash window had no lock and was unsafe for my four year old daughter, so it had to remain closed and there was no air conditioning. Also, the toilet was not fixed to the floor properly, came loose on use and leaked toilet water all over the bathroom floor.

Good value for money

The hotel needs some TLC. However it represents great value for money. The location area is very hilly and hotel has numerous stairs, which was difficult at times as I am asthmatic. Sean, the receptionist was extremely helpful and moved us to a room with easier access. The hotel provides a continental breakfast at a small cost. There is easy access to the train station.

It was a clean basic accommodation which is all we wanted for one night as we were out at a concert in Cardiff and it was a 5 minute walk to the train station and then 25minutes into Cardiff Central

Never again

I was told I owed £154, but I had receipts saying I’d paid £77 already, this caused an argument, I walked off £154 paid. We went back at 3 pm to book in and (male) receptionist wanted an apology, I refused causing another argument and they wouldn’t let us book in. Hotel called police saying I wouldn’t leave, but all I was saying was if you won’t book us in give me a refund and I’ll go somewhere else, but they wouldn’t and insulted me about my age ?. I again walked of and hotels.com won’t help me get refund as hotels receipt isn’t itemised ?
