We stayed one night ao that we would not go back home due to a tournament my kids had. Loved our room. We opened our terrace door and were right at the pool. Easy for us and convenient.

The Ice Machine was broken, the only working one was on the other end of the hotel, phone in the room diid not work So I called their number from my cell and it rings twiceand hangs up. The shower drain did not drain so I had to clean it. The price is at a premium but the accommodations are sub par

We stayed here on a quick trip over Memorial Day weekend. It worked for what we needed, mainly to sleep. Overall, it was okay, and we would consider staying again, it wouldn’t be our first choice. The location is definite plus-centrally located and convenient to nearby attractions. The room itself was just average and could use a deep clean. There were noticeable stains on the walls, ceilings, desk and even the bedding. The floors were visibly dirty, so keep your shoes on. We also saw a roach on the second sat, which may have been due to construction around the property. On the positive side, the front desk was friendly and coffee available in the lobby. The pool was decent, though only one door appeared to be working, so guests had to let each other in. Pool towels were more like oversized rags. The hotel is connected to a wedding venue and food hall, which was convenient. Lots of food options within walking distance and shopping. They also offer a shuttle to and from legoland which we didn’t use but appreciated as an option. In summary, this place did the job for a short stay, but cleanliness was a major drawback. We’d stay again if necessary, but wouldn’t be our top pick.

Expensive Motel 6. This property is surviving on location only. For the price you pay, I’d expect at least decent furniture and daily cleaning service. We had to go to the lobby to ask for basic toiletries as we didn’t even have that. Complimentary water? No, but we can sell you some. Cleaning service? Yes, but didn’t we mention you had to book and request in advance? Old and smelly room, creaky bed, super noisy AC, TV from 2004… need I say more? Stay at a motel 6 and save yourself a few hundred bucks.

Great Hotel with Good Food & Entertainment

It was amazing. This was a last minute booking because our previous booking (Oceanside Inn & Suites) kicked us out in the middle of the night. The previous hotel stated it was their right to refuse service to us. The Carlsbad by the Sea hotel was much more accommodating and we will return! Thank you!

Not a pleasant stay

Stayed two nights for a wedding at wedgewood venue. First thing going to the room. There was construction going on next to the room we stayed in. So noise with all the workers. The front desk said they didn’t know there was construction to the rooms going on. I mean if you’re having construction let guests know or block off the rooms by where they are working. In the room, the water for toilet, sink and shower were brown. Disgusting looking. Went to the front and they said oh someone said there was an issue in the morning with the pipes. So just run the water until it clears up. Second morning we wake up, there was a cockroach crawling on the entry door. The floors had debris and were not clean. Door jamb and casing in bathroom were in bad shape. The beds are very noisy and springy. The only good thing was the connivence of hotel walking distance to the wedding venue. Other than that will not stay here again.

Nice rooms and location

The hotel had very nice, what looked like to be newly renovated rooms (or at least the one I was in was). The location in Carlsbad was excellent, lots of good restaurants and a nice mall across the street, and its near the flower fields.
