Absolutely wonderful hotel. Full of Victorian charm. It has been renovated to a high standard but its kept all its victorian features. Staff are brilliant and made our stay very enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended

What agreat place to stay! Staff friendly and very helpful, foods great ,beers great, comfy warm rooms, what’s not to like, a great old Station Hotel.
Thanks very much.
Jake.
It’s an old building, so the floor creaks. But it’s been well renovated. Nice little touches we especially like: big mugs, plenty of tea bags and milk sachets, good food in either a bustling family bar or a quiet restaurant, friendly efficient staff.
Warm welcome. Well appointed compact room. Very comfortable bed, with pristine bedding. I slept well.
Although overlooking a busy daytime road junction the room was quiet at night.
Transport and shops all located close-by.
A morning smile from reception staff.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room large and comfortable, and the food delicious.
There was nothing I did not like. The hotel is a perfect place for exploring the local area
When we arrived we were given a key to our room, as we entered the room there was a gentleman on the room in his underpants. It appeared our room was given to someone else. We were then given another family room on the 3rd floor and the lift only goes to the first floor. The family room was spacious however there was a bag of mouldy salad in the fridge and one of the glasses had black liquid in it. We didn’t get much sleep initially either due to the pub attached to the hotel which had live music until 23:30 hours, which if we had known we wouldn’t have booked the hotel. The shower screen in the bathroom leaked and water went all over the floor and the shower head had to be placed in high position otherwise it would drop and spray on the wall. Also one of the mattresses in the room, the springs appear to have gone around the edge so if you turned over in bed you would fall out of bed.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful, the tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room were all very nice and it does look as though the owners have spent some money on the place.
The main issue for us, having young kids, was the noise late into the night.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Lovely clean room in a historical building. It's creaky and quaint. The bed was rather high but a step was provided on one side. The cleaner used in the bathroom was quite overwhelming with fragrance. Awesome shower though!!
Additional breakfast was nice. Be aware that although there is parking it is NOT dedicated parking and you either have to find a spot on the surrounding streets or pay to park at the train depot which is reasonable for cost but expired at midnight and you have to renew the fee.
The hotel is old, but comfortable and clean, though a little overpriced for my stay. Very comfortable bed, and good shower. Street parking is easy, and for EV owners there are 6 slowish chargers: the two round the back show no evidence of the 3 hour limit applied to the 4 at the side, so you can leave your car on charge overnight.
Local restaurants and takeaways are poor, but there's a good supermarket 10 mins walk away.
Carnforth's redeeming feature is that it is a great springboard to the Lake District for those travelling to Scotland from the South.
