No clue where to begin. Service was terrible! Upon checkin, every single guest had to provide ID. My family is from Colombia, so I was told they would have to pay additional tax as my guests even though it was MY reservation and I PAID for the room and tax already! We were told my nephew (1yr old) was not allowed to stay because he did not have an ID and his father did not have his birth certificate with him. When making the reservation on Travelocity it asked how many people in each room, I indicated 2 adults and 1 child per room (I book two Superior Rooms [Extra Bed 2 Adults 1 Child). It asked for their ages, I said 16 and 1, and I was told I only booked rooms for 4 adults! They told me I had to pay extra for the kids! THEN.... they put my family in a room with ONE BED although I booked a room with two beds and did not tell me!!!! They said they can't see what is booked when you use a site like Travelocity, and they did not have two of the rooms I reserved available. After leaving to find another hotel, when I returned to checkout I was told they were going to move my family to another room which ended up being exactly the type of room I reserved in the first place! An entire 90 minutes of my time WASTED!!! My room faced the plaza and the hotel is right by the clock tower which was a nice view. However, the nice view turned out to be a NIGHTMARE because they party in the plaza ALL NIGHT!!! Sirens, alarms, music, loud people til 6am! Mold, mildew, broke toilet and lamps

El hotel tiene buena ubicación y servicio, solamente eso. Luego al estar al lado de una plaza hay ruido toda la noche. En dos noches de alojamiento el ruido se mantenía hasta las 5AM, y el hotel no provee tapones antiruido ni nada. Además parece que el negocio del hotel no es el alojamiento, que no es barato. Sino el minibar, dónde te venden un agua a un precio ridículamente alto.

Beautiful but noisy
Beautiful hotel. Great central location. Excellent service. Very popular tourist spot outside, this lends to a very noisy atmosphere. If you have a room with a view. The views are fantastic but noisy until 3-4am. Morning is quiet. The pool has a fantastic view also!!!

It is a fantastic location, and the rooftop with the pool is perfect. The staff was very attentive. However, the rooms are dated for an “urban” hotel, and the towels look like they have been there since the late 70s. Also, if you have a light sleep, remember that the hotel is in the middle of Party Central.

Excellent location
Easy and quick check in, friendly staff. Excellent location to walk around the city. Room is small but good orginized and very good view to the clock tower, plaza and the sea... Next buildings have a rooftop bar and disco which has laud almost during the night. The point is if you want to stay in historical area, there is no chance to be away from these kind of noisy places. So, I could not complaint about this.

The hotel itself is ok. It’s smack in the middle of el centro feet from the clock tower. A little wear and tear, but that’s not a big deal. The room did look nicer on the pictures if I had to be honest. The comforter had a couple of yellow stains on it. The AC unit did not cool very well. I didn’t anticipate nor appreciate that they charge a fee for every visitor you have over. I have family and friends in Cartagena so this was definitely an unexpected inconvenience for me. There is no mention of this fee for guests anywhere online or in the rental agreement they have you sign at check in. I discussed it with the staff there and they agreed with me that there was no mention of the fee anywhere but refused to waive it. I’ve stayed in bocagrande before, particularly in the Estellar and the prices for both hotels are about the same only the estellar is MUCH nicer. Personally, I’ll look at other hotel options and just take taxis to el centro next time I visit my family and friends there.

The hotel itself is ok. The issue is that if you want to have a guest visit you, they charge you. This is nowhere to be found online when you are booking the hotel and it doesn’t even appear in the contract they have you sign when you arrive, surprise fees are unappreciated by me. For the cost of the hotel room and the fee for guests, you are better off staying in one of the nicer hotels in Boca Grande. I’ll never stay here again
