The property was beautiful. However, it’s very isolated so the only dining options available are on the property. The pricing for the restaurants were way more than we expected for the quality of food served. Even when paying in USD, the average price was $30-40 for a course. Even the more “casual restaurants” were expensive and the food was underwhelming. The hotel was gorgeous, but probably won’t be returning due to the dining options.

I wish I could give this 1000 stars. The best resort, service & location I have ever encountered in all my travels . Sofitel baru ia a true oasis, you arrive by boat and there are no other resorts - nothing but jungle for miles. We felt like we were on White Lotus lol. The staff is unmatched , attentive & sweet. The resort itself never felt crowded , we would see maybe 4 others groups during the day . Always had loungers at beach or pool. The grounds & the room were to die for , the height of luxury . Would go again and again.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The food was okay but the worst part is it is in a secluded area. If you are going to relax it is perfect. If you want to experience the culture of Cartagena then you should stay inside the wall

The resort is beautiful. The beach and water are beautiful too. Great service, beautiful view from my room. Highly recommended. Cons? It’s Cartagena, it means happiness, music, warmth people, smiles. I know it’s a French hotel, but hello, the hotel is in Colombia. Tourists want to feel their culture. Employees are too serious and saying madame all the time sounds ridiculous. Not their fault, obviously it’s what they need to do. Music (of course only from the hotel) at the beach would give a nice Caribbean touch. Also, the cocktails (not cheap at all) had little alcohol) The rest, the hotel is amazing. I will come back.

It’s a really nice hotel . Room price is worth it. Price on drinks and food is overpriced compared with what you pay for the room . The quality in the food is excellent. We spent our honeymoon at Sofitel Barú Calablanca and it was an unforgettable experience. The entire property is absolutely stunning — from the lush landscaping to the variety of pools, including a serene adults-only pool that was perfect for relaxing. We dined at all the on-site restaurants and were blown away by the quality. The morning buffet breakfast was a daily highlight: fresh, delicious, and with a huge variety of options. Bahía served amazing meals, and the food truck by the beach was a fun and tasty surprise — perfect for casual bites with ocean views. La Pérgola offered the most breathtaking sunsets, making it the perfect spot to end the evening. A special shoutout to the wait staff at the L'illot private adult pool — they were truly outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and always went above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate our honeymoon! Very relaxing

This property is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and breathtaking, super clean, friendly staff, great service all over, The breakfast was one of the best and very organized, The reason for the 4 Star is, The restaurants are good but not great and very pricy $$$$ for Colombia and tourists , The food truck was the worse Taco we ever had and two water some margaritas , wait for the price , one small taco was 35,000 pesos =$9 and meat didn’t look that great and was cold and the margaritas were like $12 each, We don’t mind paying for good food but not get ripped off, I tried twice to contact the manger but both times he was not available , we highly recommend the resort just watch out for the food and drinks
