First time staying on the south end of Cedar City for Shakespeare Festival. Convenient freeway exit. Short drive to Main Street, but this end is closer to more chain restaurant dining options. Staff was friendly, property was nice, clean, and new and there were a lot of choices for complimentary breakfast.

Great location - great staff - requested a handicapped room - handicapped is a bench in the bathtub with bars - not walk in. Toilet also had handicapped bars. Very spacious bathroom.

Office staff could do better

I had two rooms on my reservation. Check-in was not great. I'd sent two emails in the weeks leading up to my trip, and neither was answered. I was asking for early check-in. Then I phoned a few days ahead, and was told, 'I'll make a note of it, but call the morning of your stay to improve your chances (it's not guaranteed). I called early that morning, and was told (basically) 'First come, first served.' We arrived one hour before check-in time. One room was ready, and I was told the other would be ready in 30-45 minutes. Then there was a shift change. Exiting person apparently did not tell her replacement why the guys were waiting in the lobby. They didn't get into my second room for over an hour. First, I wish they'd respond to an email. Second, I wish they'd communicated each other. I don't feel the second room should have taken so long.

I loved the big TV and the large countertop in the bathroom. The soap and lotion were very nice. I liked the lights behind the headboard and above the nightstand, and the convenient switches. I didn't like the lighting in the bathroom around the mirror, it was hard to see my face to do makeup, hard for my dad to see his face to shave. I wish the doors connecting the rooms had door stops to keep them open.

The initial room we were put in, second floor directly across from the elevator had an almost overpowering smell of mildew. To the credit of the staff they did change our room when I complained.....but why put anyone in that room to begin with? Anyone with a nose can tell its unsuitable for habitation.
