Air conditioning in our room was not working- had to speak with staff multiple times before anyone would come to look at fixing it. Someone finally came to fix it at 10pm after our room temp was 80 and we indicated we would be leaving and asking for a refund.

Very classy unique hotel. The graduate theme in the room was cool. Cozy inviting decor and furniture was also nice. Clean bathroom and comfortable bed topped it all off for a great stay.

I booked this hotel because it was "cheaper" than our usual hotel in Iowa City. I should have realized that doesn't always play out. You have to pay $20 to park and it doesn't come with breakfast or even free coffee. By the time I paid for those amenities, I spent more than our usual location. The wallpaper and decorations at this hotel are cute and unique. However, I noticed there was carpet in the room, which is unusual now for a hotel. I'm not sure if it's because the air was on or if it was the humidity outside, but, the carpet was wet, especially by the air conditioner, which had to be set really low, at 68 to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. In the morning, when we had the blinds open, I noticed the carpet had stains on it. For a Hilton chain hotel, I was very disappointed and I will not be staying or recommending this hotel for future stays.

We arrived a little early and told it would cost $40 to check in so we decided to wait the one hour and 15 minutes. When we went back to check in we were told room was not ready and had to wait an additional half hour. We had an event to attend and barely had time to get ready.

The ac did not work upon arrival. 95degree days. We were given a fan and said a service person a will be up tomorrow. Was not given another room. He was there at noon. At 3 pm he realized it was not fixable. He insisted at the front desk that we change rooms. We were up for a wedding and had to worry all night Friday and all day Saturday about the AC. Change rooms at 3 the wedding was at 4. Will not come back or recommend The Graduate Hilton.

The room was great - until the AC died the second night. The staff was not very helpful. Told us the room was next on the list to get repaired but we waited all day and finally asked to move to another room.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and a great location. However, the air conditioning didn't work at all in our room, and at check-in, they initially gave us the wrong room number so we had to go back down to change rooms, and the elevators were slow. That said, the staff was helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

Had no air conditioning the Friday night. Would not give us a new room. Had to deal with trying to get AC fixed all day Saturday. Maintenance man worked on it until 3:30 pm. Finally got a new room at 3:00. We had wedding to get to at 4. Not a pleasant stay.

The "graduate" themed hotel is a nice touch for alumni visiting the city. The proximity in the city and campus is the best you can find.

Ac was not working when we checked in. Sent maintenance right away & he was able to reset. But it stopped working about midnight again. Room is 75 & stuffy. Also, bathroom needs a fan for steam from shower. That only added to heat in room this morning.
