A very homey, old style hotel, built in the 1920s. Coffee (and cider this time of year) all day long beside the fire in the comfortable lobby/living room which is a real gathering space. Basic, clean rooms that have everything you need. Very friendly staff.

Needs smart renovation — one that gives it a sharper look without degrading historic authenticity. Back wings need metal siding stripped and brick exterior restored, “extended stay” and “hostel” rooms need to be returned to hotel use, combined with a first rate marketing program.

Historic, clean, friendly staff, great dining options. Rooms are small, but it is a quaint, historic hotel that is very well maintained for its age. Would absolutely stay again, hidden gem, great alternative to pricey Hanover or commercialized big box store 12A in West Lebanon.

The hotel was old and very cool. We checked in very late ant night, and The young man at the front was very nice, but it took a long time to check in and we didn’t have heat (although he tried to fix the space heater) and could not get extra blankets bc housekeeping had already closed. Otherwise, it was lovely.
