Tuscany's Hidden Gem!- can't wait to return
Just got back from 8 glorious days in Tuscany, travelling with a friend, we made Il Pornelleto our home base.
If you’re looking to fully take in the country side, sights, sounds and gastronomic delights of the Tuscan country side, Il Pornelleto is the place to stay.
From Rome we took the train (Firenze line) and in about 2 hours were in Chiusi. The property is located less than 10 minutes from Chiusi Train Station and our hosts picked us up and dropped us off at the station.
Il Pornelleto is a gem in the country side. From the beautifully appointed rustic rooms with glorious light beaming in, to the 99 acres of land surrounding it, you can choose to spend the day there exploring it’s surroundings, or resting by the pool or travel by train to nearby towns/cities.
We were very pleased with our stay at Il Pornelleto and highly recommend it. A big thank you to our hosts Angeletta and Sylive who made us feel right at home.
Food:
The restaurant is about a 3 minute walk from the farm house, an opportunity to fully take in the surrounding sites.
Our package included daily breakfast, which was quite good, lots of choices including expresso, cappuccino or American coffee.
If you choose to stay for dinner, which we highly recommend you do whenever you can, Sylvie will delight you with an elaborate gourmet prepared meal, which includes various appetizers, a pasta course and a meat course. Her beef dish was the best we had in Tuscany. House Wine is also included with dinner.
