Although I’d prepaid for my stay, upon arrival there was an extended check in process caused by what seemed to be a lack of communication between Expedia and La Quinta. There was then a large bug on the desk in our first room, causing us to request a new one. Our second room reeked of cigar smoke, so we had to move to a third room. The following day, we requested that room service come while we were out so we’d have fresh towels upon returning, and were told it would be taken care of. We came back seven hours later to find that room service had not come and wouldn’t be able to until the following morning. The staff were very nice and accommodating about everything, including giving us an extra hour to check out to accommodate us having to wait for fresh towels to shower. There were just a lot of parts that seemed to make our trip a little more complicated than necessary. Not my worst experience in a hotel, but definitely not my favorite overall.
Ummmmmm yeah never again. From them threatening to kick my pregnant wife out of the hotel while I was at work, to NOT having breakfast when it was offered on website, to NOT being told the fitness room would be closed for planned renovations, and the microwave having burnt marks throughout, to them reminding us everyday of our checkout, felt like they are just trying to get rid of us. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. I'll never come back to this again and I've stayed at many la quintas in the past. And don't get me started on the amount of lies they said. Just a few examples, they left notes to not extend our stay due to having more than 1 pet (they have a sign posted at the desk that says no more than 2 pets lmao), then they accused my pets for the hotel smelling like pee and poop and then the owner came to my room and said oh I don't smell anything anymore, to the weed that is circulating throughout the hotel is unbearable. trust there's so much more but I can't sit here typing for hours. Good luck and be careful with the beds, it feels like somebody before us may have broken it because we have a lot of spots that randomly dip.
Stayed here when we went down for the Illini game. Easy access of the expressway and a short drive to the stadium. Place was nice but they have a breakfast area that did not serve breakfast that morning which would have been nice.
