Love this place and the area. Rooms are outdated but they are in process of renovation so thats a good thing.

I’m giving it two stars solely on the facility and amenities. I switched rooms when I arrived and left my keys in the previous room. I realized the next day and the front desk informed me that if any keys were found by house keeping they will return them to the security booth in the casino area. This was at 430pm the following day of me leaving my keys. That whole day they never returned my keys. I went back and forth from the front desk to the security booth and they kept telling me they did not receive my keys. I was in town for an event and I was unable to make it because they never acknowledged that they in fact were in possession of my car keys. The next day, the day of my check out, the first shift front desk manager informed me that she did in fact turned my keys over to security the previous morning and they were in possession of my keys for a full day after I ask for my keys that entire day. They finally logged my property in with security at 9:18pm the day they were turned in by house keeping and no one informed me of this after I asked several times throughout the evening. I travelled all the way from Georgia to West Virginia for nothing. They didn’t care nor did they act like they had any sense of urgency to help me. I was stuck without my vehicle for the entire day and missed the event I travelled there to attend. The second shift front desk manager and staff are lazy and unconcerned. I will definitely complain to corporate because this is beyond unacceptable

Check-in was easy. Slowed a bit, as it is connected to a Casino, every guest must be 21 or older and they do check all guest ID. They also put a $25 charge on your credit card that shows as pending, but is never finalized, so it drops off. These extra steps takes time. The room was okay, but the seat on the desk chair was broken, I did mention it to staff on check-out. The breakfast, was one of the worst we had in our 10 days of travel. Everything was cold, and packaged or saran wrapped. Nothing appeared fresh. The bagel I ate did not have that fresh taste and feel, couldn't tell how old it was. We also expected to see some fresh fruit and some orange juice, but nothing like that. We did not see an attendant on duty, so tables were not cleaned between guests. Breakfast is available till 10am, by 9:55 is was wiped clean and put away.

Disspointing that the lovely Lobby Bar is not open. The complimentary breakfast is lacking any hot items. We requested clean sheets and towels after our 3rd night and never got them. The rates wer great and the room clean and the location next to the Casino and Dog track made it better.

This place should NOT be considered a resort. A more accurate description would be a fun casino with a cruddy, dirty motel attached. We stayed 2 nights. One on the way north and one the way back. The hotel was dirty, the carpeting badly stained, the ice maker on our floor didn't work. The tv remote was sticky. The options for food do not include room service (ever) and were closed more of the time we were there than not. The "continental breakfast" was not. The staff maintaining the breakfast were dismissive and didn't want to assist. The breakfast consisted of plain bagels with cream cheese the first morning and nothing but butter the second. Muffins (blueberry and chocolate) were decent. The "fresh fruit" was a bowl of oranges. The first one I picked up, my finger went straight through as it was rotten. I set it aside to alert the staff if and when they returned. I observed another couple simply asking for a plastic fork and they were told that the hotel had run out. The tea selection was limited, but ok. Coffee was ok, but bring your own creamer if you want a decent cup. The casino, being my first experience at a casino, was enjoyable. The bartender couldn't make a Cosmo for me, so I ended up with a straight flavored vodka. Icky sweet, but sipping very slowly is probably smarter. The casino staff were nice and even explained the different table games with recommendations for a first timer. Good things: adults only, no smoking, casino & it's staff.
