Awful- stay away

Hotel located next to gentleman’s club surrounded by large homeless population with drug users in the open. Cars parked next door and on next corner had bullet holes in them. Hotel didn’t have room numbers on entire wing. They had pieces of paper and hand written #s on masking tape at top of doors but no signs directing you to find rooms. 1 bed in room was covered in dead gnats- several hundred! Not just 1 or 2… the mgr was rude and “put off” when I brought her the pictures and cancelled my reservation. I went to the Embassy Suites, pd more than dbl, but was safe, clean, and treated with respect.

My experience at the Red Lion Hotel was disappointing, especially given the price. I was under the impression that breakfast was included, but it was not. I was placed at the far end of the hotel without any assistance for my belongings, which made check-in frustrating. Room service never came, not even once during my stay. Cleanliness was also an issue—there was what appeared to be mold on the door in my room, and one of the bathroom towels had clearly been used before, with a visible hair on it. My bathroom mirror was also broken. WiFi is horrible no matter where in the building but especially my room dead zone. The gym was in poor condition and not functional, which was another letdown. Overall, the accommodations did not match what I paid for, and I left feeling extremely dissatisfied.

You get what you paid for

Booking this place was last minute, however you get what you paid for. The staffs were nice and helpful though! Although there is a “no smoking”, we did smell cigarettes and marijuana through the rooms we had passed by. Unfortunately, the washing and drying machines were not the greatest so look for a laundry unit somewhere else. We were able to wash our clothes but not dry it since the dryers were broken. Overall, the stay was great. Bed was comfortable. I didn’t like how there wasn’t much lighting since the light mainly came from lamps.

The staff were friendly and the area was clean, too, so no complaints there. The bathroom was clean and the bedsheets were clean as well, it even smelled good throughout the hallway. The hotel also had a snack and drink machine as well as an ice machine. Luckily, there were also a laundry area to wash and dry clothes. My two main complaints is that 1) there was no free/complimentary breakfast. On my expedia app, it read that the hotel provided complimentary breakfast, but when I approached to the lady at the desk, she informed me that they do not serve complimentary breakfast which saddened me. Secondly, when we entered our hotel room, there was no couch. There was a bed and everything, but there was a big open space and it felt as if a couch would fit perfectly there. It honestly looked like there was supposed to be a couch there, but we did not have one so unfortunately the three of us had to share the bed.
