Enjoyed both nights at the English Inn. Pleasant & helpful staff, great location near major highways, comfortable bed & room. Great manor-like sitting room, w/ library & fireplace, near lobby. Inn was under renovation when we stayed; there was minor construction noise starting around 9 a.m.

The clerk that checked me in was miserable. She clearly hates her job. The property was under construction, so all the base trim was torn out and it was a little dirty from the work being done. The room itself was clean and I was there just to sleep so it was okay.

We have no complaints, just observations. The place is clearly under renovation, therefore no pool. But otherwise the property looks to be improving, is very clean and there are nice touches such as serving coffee and snacks, even a 4pm pound cake, which I was sorry to miss! The beds and bedding were superb. The price of the accommodation was very good considering how expensive it is to stay in the area.

my husband and i were both aware that there was renovations happening before booking, we didnt mind at all. im a light sleeper and worried about the possibility of the renovation waking me up, but nope. it was no problem at all. i even got to nap during the day both days we stayed. staff was friendly and helpful. breakfast was great and plentiful. its located at a perfect distance from everything. some channels on the tv did not work but were not much tv watchers so we didnt mind. it was an amazing experience we will be coming back.
