This hotel is charming. It is beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and antiques. It felt warm and inviting from the moment we stepped in the lobby. The bed was so comfortable and the room was cozy.

NIce place to stay. Parking though is sort of a mess with valet parking only way it really works. If you don't use valet you are your own as they don't have parking garage one can park in and pay a lower rate than valet parking. This also means one has to wait your turn to get the car which Sunday morning was 20 people deep.

The common areas of the property were amazing. The room needed updating and the bathroom was straight up dirty and the tub was chipping and moldy. We did not want to shower there.

A Gem!
Priced about the same as "budget" hotels, the Read House is a much better experience. Our room was large, clean, and beautiful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and we hope to return soon!

Amazing hotel! Beautiful, old hotel with modern touches and amenities. Wonderful, friendly staff. Great bar and pool table area and while we didn’t use the pool, it looked awesome. Loved the historic items that have been left. The only thing I was mildly disappointed by were the bed sheets. They felt very worn and “pilly”. Bed overall was clean and comfortable, though. And towels were wonderful. Robes and slippers would be a nice touch as the bathroom was chilly. Would absolutely stay again!

It was only .7 miles walk to the aquarium and riverfront. The hotel is historic and welcoming. The renovation has made this iconic hotel absolutely stunning. Staff were great. Food and service were top notch.
