It was older hotel but it was clean and fairly reasonable rates. The staff were very nice and helpful. The only issue was the toilet was wobbly.

Love My Bay!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Bay Mountain Inn. Every time I attend the annual Cherokee Powwow, I book this hotel. The staff is friendly, professional, helpful, and available. The establishment and room were spotless and comfortable. It is conveniently located next to the old Cherokee High School where the powwow event is held. This is my second year coming to the powwow, and when I return next year, guess where I'm staying!

I prefer Bay Mountain Inn over all Hotels in the Cherokee, NC area. The hotel is just in the right location. I went to Relax, total Peace and Quiet, I had a 4-night stay, I slept really well, totally Rejuvenated. The staff was observant to the "Do Not Disturb" sign that hung on the doorknob for days while being aware that I was doing just fine being locked in my room. I really should visit more often. Beautiful Mountains Sides and Bay Mountain Inn. Cleanliness is Over-the-Top!

Could be worse but def last time I stay here

Have stayed here for years but this will be the last time. It’s gone downhill as far as cleanliness and is extremely dated. Calling to double check we’re coming and asking what time we’ll check in is a bit annoying when I’m on vacation and don’t have an exact answer. It’s already paid for so what does it matter? The broken A/C unit coupled with stains on the floor immediately upon walking in the room were a deal breaker (ridiculously slow check in for no apparent reason) Especially considering the place was empty and that’s the room I get?! It was never the nicest place but was acceptable. I’ll be finding different accommodations next time The reviews that have this place rated higher than a nearby Holiday Inn Express are questionable at best

NEVER AGAIN - worst stay ever!

Worst stay ever. And our last at Bay Mountain. At checkin, I advised the lady I had already paid for the stay during booking and expected a hold for incidentals only. She said that hold would be $1. Surprised, but ok. Then she said I had not paid and she would be charging me. I said no, that wasn’t right. She claimed to have figured it out. Well, she didn’t. She charged me. When I went back, she got upset and told me I was wrong - even with me trying to show her my credit card statement online. Friday afternoon - beginning of long weekend - she says the computer did it and it would fall off at midnight. I told her that’s not how it works. Monday morning at checkout, I explained to the gentleman and he claimed the same thing. I told him I had heard that song and dance Friday and 3 midnights had come and gone and it was still there. 3rd lady called on my way home - same thing. Stupid because the charge is still there. Finally Tuesday morning AFTER vacation they released my money. Vacation money held hostage for the duration of the vacation. 😢 Location is great which is why we have stayed there for years. NO MORE! This time there was an odd smell in the building and the internet quality was terrible. Kicked me off often and made me log back in. The men who manage the place hang out in the lobby and parking lot. Kinda gave me the creeps this time. The beds are comfortable, but the laundry detergent they use caused a rash this time. Just bad all around.
