Great place! Beware of the up charge for ‘resort fee’ and ‘local tax’, it adds $60 plus to your bill. Hotel was super nice, food was really good and staff was top notch.

Expensive eating. Comedy show was good but cost extra. Electricity was out 12hrs overnight. No lights or water. Yet the slot machines were working on auxiliary power. Seems like customer need would have come first.

Good trip spoiled

The hotel and amenities were top notch as usual with a friendly and professional staff. Unfortunately on our final evening there, a terrible storm caused a 12 hour power outage. There was no room service or restaurant availability just a dark,silent room. I would have thought that a facility that size would have backup generators.

The Cherokee Tower is for people that like walking

Don’t stay in the Cherokee Tower unless you like walking. Especially if you want to go to Gordon Ramsay’s Food Market. It is all the way past the other side of the casino. If you don’t want Starbucks or Guy Fieri’s you’ll be walking. It was faster and easier to drive to McDonald’s for breakfast. And if you do stay there, be aware that you shouldn’t park in the first parking garage you come to (if you’re coming from the east). You need to go a couple more blocks to the next garage. We had no idea and parked and went in to check in, only to find out that we had to go back out and go to the other garage. Then, when you enter the building it is a good walk to registration, with no signs stating that. We weren’t sure we were in the right place. One tip, if you have a handicap placard, it’s best to go in the garage entrance that says valet. There are also some handicap spaces there right by the door.

The only complaint i would have is that everything is so far from each other and you have to walk a long way to get to point A to point b. We didnt have a remote for our tv when we checked in but they brought us a new one within 30mins. The pools seemed alot bigger in the pictures too. They were quite small in person.

The Cherokee Casino Hotel thinks that it is high end hotel, but it is just an average motel worth around 2.5 stars. The rooms are decorated in dark brown colors (depressing) and our bathroom mirror had a giant crack in. The slot machines are cash only, and if you use the atms on site they charge an $8.99 withdrawal fee. The slot machines are ok, but there isn’t much variety and the machines are tight. It’s no fun to lose $100 in 10 minutes because the machines don’t have any give and take. Even if you walk around and try different machines, nobody was winning anything over $60 “big wins”. Overall, the vibe at the Cherokee is a bit of a downer. Not interested in going back.

Visit the Mountains of Cherokee

There's not much to do in Cherokee, but the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort does offer some good restaurants and if you're into gambling, you've got that. Pleasant staff, comfortable room with a good bed and a spacious shower. I would come here again.
