My husband and I had such an amazing time at the Rod 'N' Reel Resort in Chesapeake Beach, MD! 🏖️🎣The town and resort is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, charming, and full of small town magic. Best of all, it's not overcrowded, which made it feel like a true hidden gem. Being close to the water is so healing for the soul. The food was great, especially the fresh seafood. 🐟🦐🍽️ The resort has some awesome perks, including: A casino, paddle board & kayak rentals. A rooftop pool and an indoor pool. The area also offers fishing charters 🚤 nature trails 🌿, a boardwalk 🌅 , and local shops 🛍️ It is the perfect place to slow down and soak in the beauty of the bay. 🐚🦀☀️ Highly recommend to anyone in need of rest, connection, or just a beautiful escape. 💫 Just a heads up, bring your own fishing rods🎣 The only negative is you have to bring your own fishing gear. We were hoping to rent some rods and go fishing and there is no option for that. I didn't want to leave and we will definitely come back.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights July 4th weekend. There was an issue with the kitchen at The Dock and we did not get our food because of a hour and a half back up . Mary overheard me talking to the front desk about it and was able to get us some food . She was so pleasant and kind . Other than that I can say the service at CBQ was hit and miss . Mr. George the chef seemed like he could use a little more help in the kitchen and they need someone to clean the table and empty the trash on a regular basis . 1936 food was pricey but delicious. The rooftop pool was amazing and the views from our room were wonderful. Housekeeping did great and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Overall even though they are under construction. I would recommend to others and we will definitely be back .

Have stayed here several times and can certainly understand and adjust to the flux when undergoing renovation projects throughout the property even experiencing a 'false alarm' fire alarm at 08:15 in the morning. If one is looking for some solitude and quiet quarters, coupled with balcony views of the Bay, this would be the place to hunker down and enjoy the area.

Huge resort in a small, well kept town! Our room was right on the bay and was clean and nice. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. There is not a place for breakfast but if you go a little further south on the main road, there is a shopping center with a McDonalds (and a CVS and some other things)... We were in a hurry to get home so did not try any of the breakfast places that the desk clerk recommended. The staff guy that checked us in was SUPER nice and helpful!

The work going on at the resort really cut into my enjoyment. Also I thought the lobby area could have been set up better. All the chairs closely arranged facing the fireplace without a fire going was not inviting. The room was ok. The staff were helpful.

This property is good but only if you can stay at a deep discount. You would be very disappointed if you paid the $600+ per night asking price. Staff were friendly and it is right on the bay, the rooms were clean but not worth the “retail” price IMO.
