Easter weekend break

Me and my sister have had a 3 night easter weekend stay. The hotel is lovely and clean and has a lovely fragrant smell as you enter the lobby. The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is a problem. The food is good and there is a lovely bar where you can relax and enjoy your drink, and we both had an amazing spa day. The hotel is 10 mins by taxi from the station, but is central for all you want to see and do. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. The zoo is 15 mins by taxi and was worth the trip. A most enjoyable day out. A most enjoyable weekend.

Staff were so helpful and friendly. Paid for 2 premium rooms with a view. Would definately not class them as premium rooms. One of the windows we could not see out of as was constantly steamed up. Rooms were far to hot and there was no way of cooling them down.

Average Hotel

The hotel entrance is dark,dirty and dismal. It's basically a car park. The bedrooms are tired and our window was screwed closed. The duvet was a thick winter one,which we asked to change, but we're told that wasn't possible. The bar staff were lovely but the food in the restaurant was average. The breakfast was very good with quite a large selection of choice.

Mustard??

It was unseasonably warm but the air conditioning was useless. Noisy but totally ineffective. We left the curtains closed and a window open to try to reduce the heat but housekeeping had opened the curtains and closed the window. Still the air con did nothing. On the first night I had a steak, which was ok. However no one in the hotel seems to have heard of mustard! My request for French mustard was met with denial then panic and ended up with being given whole grain - which was pointless. The second night, half the main courses were ‘off’. If we’d had the strength we would have walked out. Our booking, made with the maitre’d, had also disappeared! Overall the hotel was adequate, well located and with a good car park.

Very comfy bed and a nice room. A little noisy, but it is city centre. Lovely facilities. We did message before we stayed and asked for plant milk which we were told would be put in our room, which didn't happen, which was a shame as you're a eco hotel and should be pushing dairy alternatives. But very happy with the toiletries and in general with our stay.
