It was ok for a one night break on route to Alton Towers. Staff ok, room and food average. Overal ok but a handy stay over.

Overall a fab stay, would definitely use this hotel again, check in & car registration was faultless, requested a room not too far from reception as my partner has mobility issues this was done for us, room clean and very comfortable. Thankyou 10/10

Staff were excellent. Corridors were very dated and shabby. Room was ok. Clean bedding. Had 2 nights terrible sleep, hard mattrass, noise from other guests at night. Room needed a better clean, cobwebs down walls in corners, fan in bathroom full of dust. Lamps by bed full of dust. At breakfast wasnt asked if any dietary requirements, am veggie and not much hot food to eat, ended up with just mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns (dont like eggs or baked beans).

Room was great and so was the hotel, just the bed was like sleeping on a PE Mat and the pillows were too big. I only like thin pillows. So really nice but bed not that good for me. Still I'd rather stay here with all the facilities and service.

We enjoyed the Holiday Inn South for a number of reasons,the main one being the staff.ALL staff were attentive especially Gohar who treated us very respectfully and he found it great that we treated him with respect.Any food that we ate was tasty and to our needs.Arriving by car and having free parking is a bonus and if required there is a bus stop across the road to take you into town.Like the majority of hotels a little bit of TLC is required.

Breakfast was okay a few things were lovely but the bacon was too tough, the eggs were only good if you got them when they were first put out if you didn’t they were like rubber! Also the scrambled eggs were very dry. The hotel staff were lovely and were on hand if you had any problems. We found the hotel needs needs a bit of TLC apart from the spa and pool, that was fab. The bar needs to have a bit more choice, no slimline tonic’s which I found very strange plus no flavoured tonic’s. Cokes should have other options not just syrup mixer on tap! On saying all this, I found out that this hotel was housing illegals up to a few weeks ago so things take time to get back to running normally again. Would come again? Yes I think we would.

Hotel room was very quiet with black out blinds and a comfortable bed, so we had a great night's sleep. The room and bathroom was spotless. The only downside is that the corridors looked a bit scruffy, but I guess they get a lot of wear. The bedrooms, lounge and reception were great. We didn't use the pool or gym but it looked good.

Good location, easy to access with good parking. Building looks quite dated outside but is of a good standard inside. Rooms a reasonable size, large comfortable beds with a good en-suite with large shower. Great for a short overnight stay.

The hotel needs a refurbishment tbh, it’s a bit battered and old, signs of much wear and tear, eg Doors with years of dirty hand prints. It’s in a great location and would really benefit from a modernisation. The Restaurant staff were superb, in particular was Mark (on duty 26th Sep 2025 at 1815hrs) who was also mentoring another staff member. He was quite excellent, knowledgable, efficient and not over bearing, please pass this onto him. The other staff were also fantastic, I dian girl was very pleasant and efficient..!

Problems perhaps affected by the excellent earlier stop in Warwick/Stratford. The premises are looking very tired, the swimming pool was closed for re-furbishment, after heavy rain the ceiling of our room leaked overnight and soaked my duvet. Had to move ourselves to a new room a long way along the corridors. Our room missed cleaning on two occasions, evening meal was served in the bar area where the majority of seating was on high bar stools certainly out of reach for “senior”citizens. All the above was reported for the attention of the management who didn’t even have the courtesy to respond! On the plus side John on reception was courteous and helpful and the breakfast’s excellent
