Nice clean room. Had an issue with the TV but it was resolved very quickly. Food in brasserie was nice. Good selection at buffet breakfast which was cheaper at the hotel than the price when booking. Requested a ground floor room which we got. Hotel has good accessibility for those with mobility issues but only 3 disabled parking spots. Pool was lovely, clean and warm, but did have steps from changing rooms. Convenient for park and ride to Chester

Convenient location

Adequate for our needs, attending a wedding at Peckforton in Cheshire. Unfortunately the leisure facilities were closed for Days 2 & 3, which we were warned about in advance and offered full refund if required. On Day 1 a mishap in the pool meant it had to close on that day too which was unavoidable, however the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were available for use. Double room adequate tho on the small side. Staff friendly and helpful.

Abbots well-nice

Welcomed warmly. Swift check-in. Clean room. Free entry to spa suite which was very welcome in the mornings. Handy location for a walk into city along the canal. Easy to access from motorways. I would recommend and stay here again 100%.

Excellent location close to Chester, only a 10 mi ute drive and about £8 to £10 in a taxi. Public areas very clean, as was the room. Very good size bedrooms and effective heating, a bonus when it is cold! Good leisure facilities too

Planned a hotel spa experience for my Daughters 18th birthday. We stay at spa hotels regularly and were rather underwhelmed by the quality. The spa itself was rundown. There were no dressing gowns or slippers available. They were only available to persons who booked specific packages. The sauna and steam rooms didn’t have any drinking water facilities which is unusual for this type of spa as hydration is essential. The room itself was ok however equipped with absolute bare minimum

Ok for a short stay

The room was ok. Could have done with a new coat of paint. The area near the window looked like there had been a leak. The hot tap in the bathroom sink spat at me for a few minutes when using it. The hairdryer didn’t work. The sauna was not in use at the time of our stay which we were not informed about when booking the day before.

Overall experience

Service was very satisfactory from all staff members I interacted with. The room even though previously rated 8.0 left a lot to be desired. The shower temperature control did not work hence it gave only boiling hour water. Cleanliness was as expected but room fitting and furniture seemed dated. There was no information on display or on a leaflets concerning how to access the amenities causing us to need to visit reception multiple times to ask questions about access to pool, gym, location, restaurant e.t.c. All in all, it was an average experience.

As soon as i arrived i saw sauna out - it was the main reason i had booked - but receptionist would not cancel my reservation. Pork belly was more fat than pork But the worse was i had taken room to get away from my building site house and get rest The adjoining room were noisy from 11 pm until 5 am!!! My phone did not work to call reception. I had no sleep. I was ill all the next day. I opened my door at 2 am and there were loads of noisy people in corridor. You need to supervise this !!

The pictures make this place look lovely! However it’s extremely run down! Changed rooms 3 times! First room broken tiles and tired. Second room shower didn’t have any cold water so was scalding! Third room ‘privelidge’ massive plumbing issues, no water pressure, air in all the pipes so got soaked everytime you washed your hands. Dog barking downstairs all day and then started again at 7am. Arrived Friday evening 9;30pm to be told to order a takeaway as they don’t do food after 9. Saturday evening we learnt from someone else that they do infact do sandwiches and food. Just a shame really. Very run down.

Pleasant hotel with lovely breakfast
