When I arrived at the hotel, they said that they didn't have wifi and could not check me in. There were several other people in the lobby also waiting for check in. The receptionist said that they had been waiting for 2 hours already and that there was no plan except to wait and hope that the wifi came back on so that they could check people in. There was no manager available. I called the number on my reservation and the number was not in service. I contacted Expedia and they also attempted to contact the hotel, with no success. I requested a refund so that I could go to another hotel for the night. The hotel said that I had to talk to Expedia about a refund. Expedia said that only the hotel could approve a refund. So in the end I paid for 2 hotels for the same night. Expedia tried to follow up the hotel, but they would not approve a refund. So I paid for a night in this hotel and they would not refund my money even though it was their fault that I could not check in to a room.
Expedia offered my $25 in One Key Cash, which I appreciated. The rate that I paid for the hotel (including taxes) was $60, so not a refund, but a token towards the inconvenience.
