Charming but flawed

Viangluang is an oasis of calm in Chiangmai. It's cozy, and spotlessly clean and has a lot of nice details in terms of decor. It is not a "resort" per se, and it can seem quite small (especially the pool area). The breakfast is nice but nothing spectacular, but the staff did provide options if what was presented in the buffet was not to anyone's liking. It's unfortunate that hot showers are not available. Not so bad given the warm weather, but surprising all the same. Also unfortunate that the pool doesn't open until 10 AM. Impossible to have a morning swim.

Walking distance to many site and places to eat. Their breakfast was way beyond what you expect, much much more than what they serve at large hotels. One of the most elegant and beautiful rooms I have seen. The staff was courteous and very helpful arranging my trips/tours. Highly Recommend

This was a one night stay to enjoy the Sunday night market and a few Temples on Monday. IMO, it’s a 3 1/2 star hotel. Staff were super kind and the location is fantastic. Room was average size, average quality with walls that were a bit thin. Breakfast was included and average as well. It met our needs for our intentions. For the price and the location I’d stay again.

Great Hotel

Loves: our room was very spacious, we had a lovely balcony that overlooked the pool from the 2nd floor, the staff was friendly and helpful, location made it very walkable yet quiet, close to restaurants and shops Misses: the bed was not very comfortable, the floor is quite slippery in socks so be careful, the pool deck was very narrow making it hard to walk between lounge chairs without falling into the water

Really lovely resort type accommodation in the middle of Chiang Mai old town. Rooms are a generous size with a very comfortable bed. Other amenities include a mini fridge and coffee making equipment. The hotel grounds were well kept with lush gardens throughout. The pool was nice. Breakfast was good. The hotel is in a really good location right next to the Sunday night markets.

The hotel is great in general, some of the design choices are weird. Lets start with the floor, it is too slippery, socks slide and also the rugs. Bathroom was wrongly setup with shampoo and soap in the opposite side of the shower, trashcan next to the toilet blocking access to seat, finally in my room the hot shower would stop working properly, I didn't even have time to complaint because of activities and only strayiung 2 nights.
