Great couples getaway
Beautiful hotel, love the view, never disappoints when we stay. We've stayed here several times. The hotel is very busy so if you're looking for a nice quiet place, this is probably not it.

Very nice historic landmark. Room was very clean and comfortable, hotel was quiet during our stay. Kind and helping staff. The only downside is the heating system that seems to be a little old, just a simple on/off fan without thermostat.

Ice machines! This was an issue here all summer long. I pointed it out to management over the summer but the issue has gone from bad to worse. Supposedly, there are ice machines on even floors. This visit, housekeeping directed me to the machine on the 4th floor as the only working ice machine. I suggest that as a minimum, correct the signs on all floors that do not have operable ice machines.

The lobby area is very nice, although the rooms are fairly outdated and could use a few upgrades. The curtains did cover the entire windows so it was pretty bright in the room at night. Also, there were two complimentary water bottles, but one was half empty upon my arrival. Lastly, there wasn’t a thermostat in the room and it was quite warm. The positive is the price is typically much less than the surrounding hotels, but a few small changes could make a big difference.

THERE WAS NO HEAT!!! When I asked to have it fixed in my room they said “it’s an old building so we don’t have the heat going yet.” The entire building had no heat and it wasn’t an unexpected outage. literally had zero heat going. They offered me a small plug-in heater to keep by my bed. Not really acceptable for November in Chicago. They were unapologetic about no heat, didn’t seem particularly concerned. Room service food was really awful also.

We had an excellent stay. The staff was very helpful and our room was clean and spacious, and the location of the hotel was nice as the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park are both within walking distance.
