It was pretty basic. Despite the grand entrance, the rest of the experience was drab. Too big, too corporate. Also the housekeeping was terrible - inconsistent (one day one bed only got made even though the room had 2 beds in it), one day no housekeeping at all, one day the garbage pails weren't emptied. Also the resort fee is terrible. Another $175 on top of the bill. The area is in the heart of downtown but this means zero restaurants or "life" near by. I will not be staying here again.

I would still recommend staying here

Overall our stay was very nice. Our only real complaint was that we couldnt come in or out of the hotel without being bothered by staff trying to sell us future packages.

The hotel was quite empty so there was a lot of room. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The king room overlooked Lake Michigan which was nice. The hotel is old and could use some updating. The elevator doors were not the cleanest. Our room had a broken towel bar which could hurt someone. We had an accessible room that had a very old shower chair that was nasty....dirty or rusty or both. The restaurant ootions were limited to Kitty OShea's in the hotel. We got to be regulars with the staff there. It was safe and we enjoyed our stay despite the challenges mentioned.
