Overall it is a great hotel, and we enjoyed our trip. Most of staff members were helpful and knowledgeable. My biggest issue was with the house keeping. The housekeeper was quite rude and she did not fix our room several times although we never had a do not disturb sign or anything. We had our room like always, nice and organized, but a part of the service is to at list take our trash out, fix our bed and change our towels as needed. It was quite disappointing. I know that matter was escalated, but it did affect our overall experience.

When we checked in we were hit with a mandatory additional "facility fee" of $50. Why was it not included in the price listing if it was mandatory all along? They had no good explanation and it made the whole experience feel extremely scammy. The cafe downstairs was also ridiculously overpriced with $8 gatorade?! It was a fine room but it all left a bad taste in our mouths. Be honest about your prices, please.

Our stay at the Hilton Chicago was not an enjoyable one to say the least. The most frustrating of all is the destination fee, which is 25$ per room per day. Staff provide extremely unclear instructions about what it is and how to use it to get your money’s worth. The hotel makes it even harder for guests to do that. For example, the fee includes 18$ per day credit on laundry. Laundry is advertised in the laundry slip as being available 7 days a week but in fact is only available Monday to Friday. If it is advertised that we get 18$ per day credit on laundry then laundry must be available 7 days a week or the hotel must inform you ahead of time. We only found out once we prepared our laundry and called the valet to pick it up. We were also informed that we are offered 2 complimentary water bottles daily but after asking for it on the third day, we were told it was only provided to those who rent pickle ball equipment (included in destination fee), which is extremely ridiculous. Only after we complained were we told that we could potentially use the 18$ laundry credit to get snacks. It seems that they hide information from clients so as to reduce the amount of credit claimed by the clients. The destination fee also gives you access to wifi and the fitness center. Since when are these paid for in hotels? These have always been included. The hotel is also run down and needs renovation/updating. Maybe then the destination fee would make sense but as it is now, it is unjustified.
