Terrible experience at this hotel. Our first night there someone was having a party in their room on our floor and the noise was terrible. There were fights in the hallway and loud banging on doors. The hotel did not do anything to help this situation. The cops had to be called eventually. When we complained the next da, they asked if we had photographic evidence and only gave us a $40 dining credit. All staff were rude here. Everybody that worked here seemed very unhappy. I would highly recommend reconsidering your stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton downtown loop. Terrible experience.

Non smoking hotel yet room smelled of smoke and marijuana. Reported and confirmed by staff. Told not to turn on bathroom light because opens damper and brings in smoke through ventilation system. Room actually could see smoke. .Manager Said would refund room and then called us saying she would not. Chicago has a clean air act law. Why didn't to our smoke alarms go off and what about their special smoke, vaping detectors. Why they couldn't /wouldn't find persons in hotel that were causing problem. Other persons switched rooms to be on different ventilation system. That was suggested to us but didn't have comparable suite. It was absolutely ridiculous that we are being punished for their lack of abilities to handle a serious situation.

It had all the amenities you need. From stove to dishwasher to morning breakfast at the lounge. I recommend getting the suite, you will have everything you need. Even a big fridge and table to accommodate your family

I did like the space in the suites, the space of the shower, and the kitchen. I just didn’t like how dirty the pool area was. Having stained towels, and the not so thorough cleaning of the suite.

We were on the 19th floor and the bedroom windows opened all the way with no security bars....I was extremely concerned about this since we were traveling with younger kids and didn't want them to fallout the windows. I put stuff in front of the windows so my kids didn't get close to the windows. Hoping the hotel will address this safety concern,

The phone in our room didn’t work and we couldn’t turn the ceiling fan off. Also it was a group of people having an argument in the hallway at 2am but we had no working phone so couldn’t call down to front desk. It took over 29 minutes for someone to get them out

It is convenient where its located. But remember parking is $70 a night no way aorund it. Stayed in a suite. The shower head kept leaking constantly making noise and had black mold growing in the corner. The food was mediocre. A very small "buffet" that is stuffed behind a counter and an island counter. Barely any food options. They lied about streaming services on their tvs. Customer service were indifferent about everything, making me feel like i was bothering them by asking questions. I wouldn't stay here again. For how expensive it was I expected much more.

Clean and satisfying

Decorations and cleanliness were nice and the hotel seemed to have been recently renovated. The hotel breakfast was typical for a free breakfast. Nothing special but it was tasty and satisfying. There were plenty of options and the hot food was hot, the cold food cold. The bed and pillows were a bit softer than I like, but that varies person to person based on preference. We did not have any issues with strange noises or elevators as others had recently mentioned.

The check-in process was a struggle. The young lady at the front desk must have been new as she struggled with checking folks in and answering questions. I asked about car parking options (Valet, self-service, or other) and she wasn't aware of any alternatives other than valet. Looking out the window you could see public parking lots across the street. I was with a party of 4 and we decided to split the room charges. She said that would have to be done at checkout. When we were checking out, we were told this had to be done at check-in. I am sorry for leaving a critical review but the negative check-in experience set such a poor tone for our visit.

This was a great place for a family weekend trip to Shedd Aquarium. Walked everywhere we went. Valet parking was easy and affordable. Room was clean, but one of the TVs did not work, and the pool was cloudy. Possibly too much chlorine. 4 stars. Everyone left happy.

Likes: Most of the staff were friendly and inviting. The amenities were great. Breakfast was good. Location was great! Dislike: Flew in from TX, room was not ready at 4pm. Housekeeping said the room was ready, but when we got to it we had to wait in the hallway with all of our luggage while housekeeping continued to clean our room.
