Location, location, location

Great service, pretty good breakfast though i did wish for a bit more variety. The room (a suite) was clean and ideal for a couple and 1-2 children with more than enough amenities. The indoor pool was also nice. The area felt safe; always lots of people around and is walking distance to many things like shopping with plenty of choices for food. The only downfall was having one working elevator, so we had to wait and it would usually be full and stopping on multiple floors. However, the other elevator was fixed when we were checking out. The parking situation gets a little sticky. We opted to leave it with valet using the app SpotHero, which was cheaper than the hotel fee. We just used Uber to get places, which wasn't too expensive thanks to where the hotel is located.

The employees are excellent and friendly. The elevators are still being fixed which leads to a lot of wait time going in and out of the building. Breakfast included was great. Lots of attractions in the area that are walkable and lots of major stores too. Downside is no parking available from the hotels in the downtown area and have to use Self Parking which cost you around $64 per overnight.

The first night we arrived our room was hot and stinky. We were so tired that we just wanted to sleep so we didn’t say anything. I spoke with Courtney(front desk) the next morning and she was very kind, apologetic and helpful and got my family and I into a different room.

We had a great stay at the Homewood Suites downtown Chicago. The staff was attentive and efficient, the breakfast which is included, was great with lots of options. The rooms were clean, very accommodating, the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel were all built right into the shower. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. We felt safe and everything was within walking distance. If not, there’s always Uber or the L train. We could hear sirens during the night, but we could not hear our neighbors through the walls. The rooms start on the 7th floor and go up to maybe the 18th floor. The pool is on the 19th floor with a beautiful view of the city. You have to have a special card to get access to your room so that not just anyone who walks in off the street can get into your room. It felt pretty safe. As long as you can handle a 10-15 min walk, you are walking distance from the magnificent mile and a host of restaurants and other places you might like to visit. Family friendly, comfortable, clean and safe. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very dated the furniture needs to be replaced there is no cushioning left in any of the furniture the pull out couch is unsleepable. The carpet was very dirty overall it needs a full remodel. The best part was the view from our windows.

This is a great property for a family trip to Chicago. The staff are super friendly and very responsive to needs. The amenities can't be beat. And the proximity to great attractions and public transportation are amazing. Definitely recommend this property.

The staff and service were excellent, however, the condition of the room was unacceptable. The sheets were not properly cleaned, the room had a bad odor, and there were fingerprints with what appeared to be stool on the walls, absolutely unhygienic. The administration should thoroughly inspect the cleanliness of the rooms and consider updating the facilities. There were several cracks in the bathroom wall that had not been properly repaired. Unfortunately, due to these conditions, I will not be returning.

Overall fine but the staff did not make the sofa bed as requested so we had to do that ourselves after arriving late at night. Also breakfast was unhealthy, no healthy options. And staff did not really care or were very warm.

Other than a not very friendly staff member at check in and rooms not being ready by check-in the stay was good until we woke up to find a large cockroach in the bathroom. Upon notifying the front desk they immediately sent housekeeping to take care of it while we were out of the room. We could tell someone came into the room but I wasn’t told if they caught and disposed of it or if he went back into hiding. I was offered a bunch of reward points for the incident. The roach appeared on the morning of our check out day or we would have requested to move rooms for the duration of our stay.
