The stay was fine. The lobby area is very nice so one feels one is in a 4 or 5 star hotel. I would come back to stay again. The breakfast was good, a lot of different foods. Inside the room was very clean and seemed new.

It is a 1/2 a block off of Michigan Ave. and Ontario, terrific location. There was no carpet in the entire building which made it feel so much cleaner! Very modern rooms and lobby. The roof top bar was great. Staff at the rooftop bar were great too! The lobby staff were fantastic!!!! Always happy, trying to help without even being asked!!! Fantastic!!! Breakfast staff needed to relax a little bit. We were a party of 12, with 6 rooms. We were never allowed to even get a table of 4 so we could sit together. We could have been given tables at least by each other. They were not interested in accommodating us. Really felt like herding animals. Breakfast was good, lots of choices.

Deluxe Room - 10/10. Great size. Clean. Sensible size TV for the room. Good choice of channels and the casting was a welcome experience. Good size safe and fridge, but only a coffee maker (i.e. no tea)… Bathroom - 10/10. Clean and decent size. Great shower. Double wash basins. Bed - 10/10. Nice bed. 4 good night’s sleep. WiFi - 10/10. No issues. Gym - N/a. Didn’t use. Breakfast - 10/10. Great choice and very good quality. Varied slightly everyday. Staff - 10/10. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel - 10/10. Great location in Downtown Chicago, just off the Magnificent Mile. Quite new and looks it too. Everything was fresh and modern, just as you’d hope/expect. Would definitely recommend.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Shortage of cleaning staff created some problems—two times the room wasn’t serviced until after 5:00 p.m. Room was fine but we needed information about turning on and using the TV. Also needed instructions on using the soap dispensers in the bathroom. Seems trivial, but it’s the little things that separate good from excellent. Staff was cordial and helpful.

Looking forward to next stay at a Riu Hotel

This was my first stay at a Riu Hotel. It was outstanding on every level - service, atmosphere, cleanliness - you name it. The breakfast was outstanding - state of the art buffet - well-stocked and very tasty. Location is fabulous - just a block off Miracle Mile. Will definitely stay again.
