I recently stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Downtown for 2 days and 3 nights with my daughter, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. While I appreciate the central location, several issues detracted from our stay:
Key Card and Elevator Inconvenience: Upon check-in, we were given an unactivated key card for our room on the 7th floor. This caused significant inconvenience, especially since the elevator required a key card swipe to operate, making it challenging to manage with our luggage.
Breakfast Experience: The breakfast options were extremely limited, with no accommodations for dietary restrictions. Despite requesting an egg without ham or bacon, the staff could not provide alternatives, and the waffle batter was frequently empty and not replenished during the breakfast hours. There was also no oatmeal, and only dry cereal was available. As a result, we had to eat breakfast outside all three days.
Luggage Storage Fee: On our last day, we were surprised to be charged a fee to store our luggage, which is typically a complimentary service at many hotels.
While I understand challenges may arise, these issues impacted our overall experience, and I hope they can be addressed for future guests.
