Boy in valet is the weakest link
The young gentleman valet in sat 10/26 was absolutely rude when I asked where I could dispose of a cup. I was in heels and he suggested I go across the busy street to a public can. I asked a second time to verify, same answer. I said I don’t want to set it in front of their hotel and he shrugged and got back to his texting. Are you kidding me???? Go work at Walmart as a hotel like that where EVERYONE else was amazing does need you as the weakest link in the hotel!!! Do better boy.

The hotel was beautiful! It's a real cozy and comfortable vibe. Perfect place if you want to stay downtown and want shop! Plenty of luxury stores nearby also its only a 20(ish) walk to the riverboat tours. Rooms were simple but very classy, the bathroom was immaculate! Clean and beautiful! The only thing I didn't like (this is very petty, lol) is that I couldn't figure out how to navigate the TV to use my Roku. BUT there were channels for Netflix and YouTube so we were fine. The staff was super nice; when we called with questions and requests they always answered. And the Nix was delicious!!

A surprise destination fee is ridiculous. Get over yourselves. Check in staff are cold and sterile. The constant barrage of texts to precheck in and their attempt to make a buck by charging for earky check in or late check out. Terrible customer service.

The property/building is vintage and nostalgic, located in best part of the city - North Michigan Ave., however rooms are SUPER small and no microwave. The WiFi was slow and almost nonexistent, the television would not stay on selected station, due to poor connectivity. Parking in the hotel and general area is very expensive.

We upgraded to the Superior Room and it felt pretty basic. There were a lot of stains in the carpet in the room. As soon as we sat on the bed you could feel and hear the springs creak in the mattress. Upon checking in the front desk person got us checked in efficiently, but not much else. The cleaning staff was extremely friendly. We didn't use any of the other services at the hotel. The location was great. Lots of good food in the neighborhood and just a block away from the Northern end of the Magnificient Mile.

The Knickerbocker is one of Chicago's older hotels, but it has kept up with the times. It seems that all areas have been renovated and the effect is calm and inviting. It boasts- a Lobby Bar that was very welcoming and a restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable and there was enough room for our overnight stay. There is a ballroom that was hosting a wedding, but it did not impact our stay. It is quite far north and just off of Michigan Ave, in the heart of the Gold Coast. We were able to walk to restaurants, shopping and bars. It is a bit far from Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and downtown but that probably contributes to the quiet. Great place to stay and the price was reasonable for the city.

This property has all the old school charm of yesteryears but the rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are completely modern with a rain shower and shower hose that’s very convenient. The toilet is one of those modern floating style toilets. The location is superb. I walked every where the dining options nearby are 5-star just like the shopping.
