Heart of the city stay

The hotel was located in a wonderful part of the city with easy access to all the best sights. The staff were beyond friendly, helpful, and warm. The gym was great. The food in the restaurant tasty. Such a comfortable stay in the heart of the city.

A disappointing and deceptive experience. I feel completely scammed by the Omni Hotel Chicago. I reserved a specific room—a King Corner Suite—because it offered the space and accommodations I needed for medical reasons. When I arrived late at night, exhausted and traveling with my daughter, they had given away my reserved room and placed us in a smaller, less expensive one that didn’t meet our needs. They offered to waive a small service fee (about $60 on a $1200 reservation) as compensation—which felt like a token gesture—and even promised a bottle of wine, only to backtrack and tell me I could go to the restaurant and order one myself. Seriously? Worst of all, they are still charging me the higher rate for the first night even though they downgraded my room. They’re blaming Expedia, claiming they are not required to honor my reservation since it was through a third party app and refusing to take responsibility for their own hotel giving away my room. This is not the level of service you expect from a luxury hotel. I booked in good faith and was met with excuses, broken promises, and no real effort to make things right. I won’t be staying with Omni again and I recommend others think twice before doing so.

This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and an updated feel. I upgraded the room to one that was larger with a separate sitting area and it was still a little less than the near by competitions regular rooms. My wife and I will definitely be staying here again.

Food + Staff is where Omni Shines

Enjoyed our stay overall at the Omni Chicago Hotel. We were on the 16th floor and it was quiet noisey with muscle cars speeding around and ambulances on their way to the nearby hospital. Room could use a bit of TLC (carpet restretched/replaced, ceiling cleaned in bathroom from excessive condensation, etc). Where the hotel really shined for us was the staff and restaurant. We absolutely loved all our meals at the restaurant. The food was amazing, from the pizzas to the breakfast steak and eggs, coconut chia pudding, french toast, burger, ceasar salad... all of it. We also really enjoyed the staff, but especially Moham the doorman. He was great with the kids and interacting, and always with a genuine smile. Really wish we got to say goodbye the day we left!

Cons: they have a Dish so the slightest amount of rain interferes with the signal. The shower had zero water pressure and it took over 20 minutes for the tub to drain after a 10 minute shower. Otherwise staff was great. Hotel room was nice.
