We had stayed at the Royal Sonesta Hotel for fall break, 3 nights. We chose the river view and it did not disappoint! The view from our room was amazing. The hotel staff were friendly and the men who helped unload and load our luggage were very pleasant. Housekeeping was also very sweet and discreet with our belongings. The hotel is super close to Michigan Ave. amongst other places. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed 5 nights while in town for Chicago Marathon. LOVED LOVED this hotel for so many reasons. Beautiful, extremely clean, room was excellent, river view was AMAZING, had dessert 3 times at Hoyt's after our long fun days out and about. Location is top notch! Staff was so very nice as well. Housekeeping service each day was excellent, We will definitely be back to soak up more Chicago! Perfect location to enjoy to enjoy a "walkable" great time, riverwalk, restaurants, bars, shopping, and sightseeing! So glad we chose Royal Sonesta Downtown...we'll be back !

A good choice for the Chicago Marathon
Very nice stay in connection to running the Chicago Marathon. Very near the start and finish of that marathon which is a big plus. Snacks provided by the hotel on the morning of the race was also a very nive and appreciated touch. Room spacious and amazing view to the river. Then why only 4 stars instead of 5? Two reasons for that: In the room there is a coffeemaker…but nothing for teadrinkers. I have never stayed in a hotel where there have only been one option and not the other. Being a teadrinker and not a coffedrinker, this is a letdown. We stayed in 1201 which is right next to the elevator, like right next to. The dings of the elevator were very loud, and were impossible not to notice, both awake and during the night.
