Check in was good and stay was nice. When I booked the room it stated I got a bottle of wine as part of the stay. Nothing was mentioned upon check in and when I was checking out I inquired about the bottle and the clerk seemed almost put our that I asked the question. He asked if we took one from room and I said no and the option I was offered was to take my key back go back up to the room and get one of the bottles. Just seemed odd and again was not a very pleasant person. Nice hotel in a great lillte area.

We really enjoyed our stay! The staff were kind and the rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is a little bit out of the way, in a more residential area, so it was quieter when were there earlier in November. The hotel is a unique building and has a lot of character with all of it's Cub's memorabilia. It is about a 15 minute walk to the red line. There are many bars and restaurant options not far that you could walk to. We didn't have a car, so we did not use the parking option. We would definitely stay again.

The staff was very genuinely friendly, and not in a fake hospitality way, but in a true friendly human way. The baseball themed decorations are very cute and well made, adding to the experience. The neighborhood / walking reachable places have great ambiance, food, and the zone feels safe. I certainly recommend the stay.

Extremely disappointed in my room at this hotel! I was really appalled by the facilities in our room, comfortability & cleanliness of our stay. However, there were some good parts. To start with the good, the staff was very nice. They greeted us each day and you can tell they put effort into their jobs. Also, location was walkable. 10/10 The bad- hotel rooms were disgusting and old. The first room smelled so bad of mildew we had to move before we could even sleep. Also, the bedding didn’t have a fitted sheet. Bathrooms were so gross I didn’t really even feel clean after showering. The outlets didn’t work, bathroom amenities were below average and you have to request housekeeping- they don’t come automatically. The internet/phone service in rooms were so bad we couldn’t use our phones in there. The rooms also look nothing like the pictures. 3/10

We booked on hotels.com. The hotel didn’t have our reservation. They upgraded us to the executive suite, as that was all that was available. That was kind, but the room smelled kind of musty and perfume-y. The room was mostly beautiful. The bed was not very comfortable. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap wasn’t the best. Also, the room was across from reception, so there was noise from the hall and from upstairs at night and in the morning.

A simple, clean room in a historic building
We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and spacious. The front desk people were very helpful and friendly. The parking was in a valet controlled garage and was reasonable at $25. The price was very reasonable compared to other, no doubt fancier places in the area. Plus we got our free bottle of wine per hotels.com!!

Staff was very friendly and kind, but our room smelled like stale cigarettes and urine. Wallpaper was peeling, carpet was stained and it is badly in need of renovation. Hopefully this will happen because it is a great location And the staff were awesome.

The location is quite good and the staff are friendly. But, our room had wallpaper and a carpet that need to be replaced. Worse, the smell of must and decay coming from our air conditioning/heating unit was borderline unbearable (we turned the unit off the second night of our stay). This was not what we expected.

This is an OLD hotel with old school charming features…stairs down into the lobby area not ideal for a person with mobility challenges, creaking floorboards, tiny elevator (we were congratulated at having figured out how to fit the luggage cart into it) in a great neighborhood-walking over to the shoreline made up for any of the downsides. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a window into the past.
