Great hotel one block outside of the Loop. Easy to walk or take public transportation. Great area of the city. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was very friendly and very helpful.

Great room with views and distinctive decoration- It was chic. Rooms were ample for downtown. The "resort fee" is - Ok since the hotel provides free internet and almost 1/2 of nearby parking, On to the less positive: Precisely because the service fee (like in Vegas!) was $29.35 per room/per night (we had 2x2), I wish the access to the rooftop disco was different- through a different door. As we were there during Friday and Saturday, the 26th floor was popular. It felt uncomfortable to go up to our rooms with masses of people fighting for those small elevators ready to party. And music was LOUD!!! since it could be heard 6 floors down (from 26th to 20th). On Saturday it felt especially unfriendly around 6 pm when they had a private party and the security guards were pushy asking for us to show our room cards and stamping our hands. Access to the rooftop is a privilege of the hotel guests, but the party leaders did not make us feel welcomed. It appears there are mixed messages from management. So, I wonder what the "service fee" is for... it getting into the elevator feels like going to a Walmart... Happy with hotel location and rooms but don't plan to return.

Great Loop Location. Driving into downtown Chicago is always stressful but the Valet Service was paying attention, making the arrival smooth. Our room was spacious and clean, with thoughtful appointments. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have stayed all over downtown Chicago, I am there often for business and to see concerts and Virgin is at the top of my list.

Hotel was nice, service was ok. I expected more in terms of hospitality as I reached out to the hotel to inform them it was my husband's 40th birthday prior to our arrival. I also ordered a bottle of wine for our arrival which didn’t arrive to the room until 90 minutes after we arrived. Based on my experience at other hotels I would have expected some kind of acknowledgement that we were there for a special occasion but nope, nothing. Room was ok, had all the basics. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Great location at a reasonable price near good food, shopping, sites, and transportation. Four-start hotel near the river, Michigan Ave, Millennium Park, etc. at a price more competitive than nearby four-star options. Enjoyed the in-hotel restaurant too (though less impressed with the rooftop bar). Only complaint is that my room wasn't available until 5pm even though check-in is at 3pm, and I had arrived and left my bag with the front desk at 11am.

Virgin has a good location- close to all the Chicago fun.. Be ware- worst WiFi of any hotel I have ever stayed in- and I stay in hotels 30-45 nights a year for past 15 years… so bad could not use and had to use hot spot on my phone… if you need to work in your room- avoid this hotel!! That said, our one bedroom River view suite was nicely appointed and housekeeping did a great job!!!
