Kind of had issues with the cafeteria and the motel, shouldnt be laughing about customers when we got issues such as yellow dirty slimy water and slimy food that looked hard & spoiled.

Dated but clean; not a lot amenities

It is in a good location. Unfortunately there was no pool, but understandable considering water is scarce. The pillows and bed were not great, but ok for one night. There is a cafeteria there that makes breakfast to order. The unfortunate part is that they offer canyon tours from the hotel, but you have to check out before the tour. So if you do the half day that get back at 1pm, you're out of luck to take a shower. Maybe they could start at 8, get back at noon and make checkout at 12:30 so you can shower. Because sitting in the back of their open-air vehicles is nice, but the dust sticks to your sunscreen.

Overall, a nice clean room and property. For us the bed was too hard and the portion of the bathroom with the toilet and shower was really tight.

Oasis in an arid area. Cottonwood trees shading cool grassy areas, birds flitting around. Quiet, peaceful, out of the town and right at park entrance. Great gift shop, reasonably priced art.

It's a good one!

A very nice hotel. Everything was ready as promised. We enjoyed the on-site cafeteria and the ability to book a tour of Canyon de Chelly there too.

I put the address the website listed into Maps, and it took us on a little extra ride in the middle of nowhere, which was a little spooky since it was on a dirt road (first clue something was not right!), about 10:15 pm to a house. Thankfully, a teenager got us turned around in the right direction. I then contacted the hotel, and after putting Thunderbird Lodge in Maps, we were able to backtrack and get to the hotel. They have a very nice gift shop, a cafe that you can buy breakfast at. Parking was in the front of the room. The also offered a very nice smelling hand lotion. Pleased overall for the price.

I loved staying at the Thunderbird Lodge! The workers were friendly, effective and hard working. My room was beautifully decorated, spacious and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the Cafeteria which had a great variety of food options and was open from 7 am to 8:45 pm. The banana pudding was quite delicious! The Trading Post offered beautiful Navajo made arts and crafts. My favorite thing was sitting in the shade outside of my room and listening to the breeze in the trees while doves cooed and sparrows flew in and out of their nests. It was so peaceful and enjoyable!

Got What I Expected.

First of all, the property was built over 100 years ago so I was not expecting it to be dated. No problem. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and everything was in working order. Only issue I had was that if offered like three channels on the TV. That was surprising.
