Great for people unlike us.

Nice people, excellent cleaning staff, and an office manned by people eager to be helpful. The killer, though, is that there is no coffee machine in the room. So, one has to get up, get dressed, transform oneself into presentable, and then go out to the attached cafe to buy (yes, as in purchase) very good but not cheap coffee. For us, we seriously regretted ever having made the reservation and would not have if we'd known what was required to get a doggone necessity of life.

Not Your Average Motel

This motel was absolutely amazing, comfortable, and safe. The staff is phenomenally accommodating and helpful. The guest engagements with the pool movies was really fun. The coffee and food were amazing, and my room was tended to frequently. When I had a concern they made sure it was taken care of right away. My first time in San Diego was definitely a delight. I can’t wait to come back and book The Rambler again

You get your value here. We stayed here after the July 5 weekend. Booked from Sunday to Tuesday. 2 nights at $156/night + $100 secuity deposit that gets return if you don'tdamage the room. Pretty great deal I think. PRO: Staff and Service was on point. Everyone was so nice and helpful. From front desk, to kitchen, to maid and janitor. The pool was nice and clean. Parking is great. Never once was an issue. CON: The room is small and a tight squeeze. The floor was very sticky! You cannot walk barefoot here! We got 2 queen beds. Not the most comfy by any means. The mattress was hard as a rock to sleep on! The AC/fan was way too loud when turned on. Very bothersome at night when you trying to sleep. But you deal with it because it's summer and it's hot. For the price you pay, it's not that bad. There's more pros then cons so would definitely stay again for a quick getaway.

Nice hotel. They have a cafe on the property and are in easy walking distance of several other options. A 2 minute walk to the trolley station. Rooms were very clean and rain shower heads in the shower. The only negatives I can think of would be, a fridge and microwave would have been nice and the a/c is non-directional and blows on whoever is sleeping in the bed closest to the door. Those negatives are not big enough to drop the 5 stars on the rooms though. Office and cafe staff are exceptionally friendly. Great stay at a great place. Also, there is a casino next store and our room was on the casino side. Never heard the slightest noise from there.

This was such a fun and cute hotel!!! The staff was great!! I am a San Diego local, my brother and his wife came out from Indiana and loved this place! I will bring all my visitors here. When i need someuch needed alone time i will also be booking a room! Thank you for such a great stay! P.S. my brother left his binoculars in the room and i got a call later that day to let me know they were left there. The staff is A++++!
