The Rambler had a great vibe! Spunky, and super chill. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, the staff were friendly, and the cafe had good eats. We loved the pool, even though it was a tad too chilly when we stayed. It was within walking distance of the metro line, but a bit out of the way from most major attractions. We utilized Lyft and the metro when touring around. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you're looking for an affordable and unique spot in San Diego.

Nice place

I had a really good stay here. They changed my perspective on motels as this one was very clean and comfortable. They do charge your card the day before check-in which would have been good to know in advance.

Perfect spot for a long weekend getaway!

My wife and I stayed at the Rambler for a long weekend away. We went to SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo and the Old Town Trolley Tour. The Rambler’s location was perfect! About 15 minutes from downtown San Diego meant we were not going to be disrupted by a lot of noise (like planes landing and taking off) but still close enough that a quick drive got us to everything. Our room was great! Very clean and it seemed like it was newly renovated. The bed was VERY comfortable and the shower had better water pressure than our shower back home. We ate at the cafe a few times and it was delicious! Parking was the only thing that was a little tight but there’s not much that can be done about that. Plus, it was free! Big plus if you’ve ever stayed in San Diego. We will definitely be back!

Nice vibe!

The rooms are somewhat small but clean. The beds are very comfortable. The vibe is nice. Everyone from staff I talked to were very attentive and cordial. The only complaint I have is the smell of the room. When I first walked into the room it smelled somewhat like bug spray or a very cheap perfume odor, probably from the carpet cleaner.
