I recently stayed at Hotel Mesaluna, located conveniently close to the US Consulate, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the hotel's proximity to the consulate was a huge plus, making it an ideal choice for visitors like me who have business there. The overall ambiance and services provided a sense of peace and comfort, which was essential given the often-stressful nature of consulate visits.
However, I found the hotel to be quite pricey, almost on par with all-inclusive resorts. Given that many guests, including myself, are not there for leisure but rather for necessary legal matters, the cost felt disproportionately high. I understand that Hotel Mesaluna is a business, but I wish they could offer some consideration or discounts for visitors who are financially strained due to their circumstances.
One aspect that significantly detracted from my stay was the lack of discretion among the staff, particularly at the front desk and transportation services. They would often ask intrusive questions about the purpose of our visit and the anticipated length of our stay. Moreover, they would share stories of other guests who had prolonged stays, which felt more like gossip than genuine concern.
