First off the lady and gentleman at checkout were very welcoming and greeted us with a smile. They made check-in so easy and hassle free. Once we got to our room though, I was completely underwhelmed. The rooms smelt old, the chairs were peeling, there was black around the air vents, the kitchen had 1 cup and lacked a lot of dishes, the walls in the kitchen had some kind of liquid splatter on it. All in all would I stay here again? Probably not, but I have seen worse.

The shower stall needs a deeper cleaning. There is pink residue on the back wall under the faucet. A pube was on the wall. :/ Other than that, beds were comfy, temperature of room adjusted easily, areas other than bathroom issue were clean/ fresh. Breakfast was good. Oh, you have to hold down the lever when flushing toilet then let go or it may not refill.

We stayed here while traveling to Cleveland for a week with our 2 cats. The suite was large and comfortable. It was clean but showing wear and tear. Stains on the couch and the carpet was wrinkled. The floor in the kitchen was very sticky. Our biggest complaint was that house keeping did not come for a refresh when scheduled or when requested. I had to go to the office to get more towels, trash bags and coffee pods. The property out side was very nice, quiet and felt very safe. For the price we would stay again but not exceptional.

Didn’t like that after you check in have to go back outside & walk to another building to find your room, mine was on ground floor, anyone could follow me, 2 big windows on ground too, when walked out my door anyone could be waiting outside. Had to walk back to lobby to meet Grubhub food delivery person. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Nice hotel with unprofessional & bitter experience

Had a very disappointing experience at Residence Inn Cleveland Independence. Upon check-in at around 7:30 PM, was informed at the front desk that my reservation could not be honored and has been relocated. No prior email or call was given prior. Upon checking the alternatie accomodation, it was a much much lower-quality hotel: old, noisy, poorly rated, and without breakfast that was included in my original booking. When concerns were raised, they offered reward points instead and no proper adjustment in pricing for being re-accommodated in a cheaper hotel. Finally, after insisting, was able to negotiate to check back in next day. Have never had experienced such an unprofessional handling. If I wanted a budget hotel, I would have booked one myself. Marriott should not operate in a way that charges guests for a premium stay and then shuffles them to lower-rated properties without notice. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. For some nice words, the rooms were excellent, very clean, spacious and very much comfortable.
