The shower faucet had no hot / cold labels, the temperature of the water changes from hot to cold. I think if the hotel pulled out the rug, it wouldn't have that smell.

I guess you get what you pay for. Heads-up: Don’t Get room 136. It’s right next to the laundry room. It’s great if you want to stay up all night, listening to the percussive stylings against your wall coming from the unbalanced load of a truckers overalls. It might not have been so bad if it was a little more rhythmic.
The room was clean, beds comfortable. The lounge chairs need to be replaced. We stayed in a double queen Handicap room #29. The shower was nice large renovated and plenty of hot water. The office staff were friendly and provided extra coffee and cups for our two night stay. The room has a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. To my knowledge this is the Only hotel in the Clifton/Morenci area that allows pets ($25 charge). Its not advertised but they have a small grassy area with a BBQ and nice picnic tables on the backside of the office. The view of the Cliffs is pretty awesome out back as well.
Overall for an old hotel its pretty clean and decent. Weve used it before (different room) , and we will use it several times more since our Son works at Morenci Mine.
What could be better? Chairs need replaced, pet fee disclosed on website and other sites like Expedia. If the TV were on a swing arm it would be more accessible to anyone seated by the door.
A bit noisy, with all of the mining supply and tanker trucks stopping at the RRX at the end of the property. Otherwise it was a verry nice place to stay.

Unsure how this hotel was rated so highly. Old, rundown hotel, though staff does their best to keep up. First room had huge stains on carpet, musty smell and water leaking through the ceiling. Cramped, gravel parking, no breakfast, just a very basic workmans hotel.
Upon arrival the office door was locked. That was not a big problem as a phone was located next to the door. I assumed correctly it was to contact the attendant. She quickly responded and I was able to check in. When I hung up the phone I noticed a doorbell button next to the phone. I asked if I should have pressed that instead of using the phone. She replied it was not a functional doorbell. OK, I thought. I could have rung the doorbell and just waited... My point is that if the doorbell is there it should either work or be removed to avoid any delays.
The room itself was nice and clean and quiet, with one major caveat. The AC unit was LOUD. There were setting for the fan: High, Medium, Low and Auto. It did not make a difference as to the noise level. ALL were LOUD. I had to turn it off to sleep.
The bathroom was very nice. It looked like it was recently remodelled.
If I were to stay in this motel again I would check the AC unit first to check its function and noise level before I unpacked for the night.
