I stayed one night at Condovac and honestly wished it had been longer! The resort was clean and exactly as advertised. It never felt overcrowded, even at the pools and lounge areas—which were open until midnight (although towel service wasn’t available that late). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. One of the AC units didn’t seem to cool as much as expected, but overall the stay was still very comfortable. No WiFi in rooms is a bummer. Beach access was a highlight—clean and easy to get to. Kayaks are available starting at 9am, and there were a few local vendors nearby selling treats like snow cones and handmade artisan items, which added a nice local touch. I really appreciated the continuous shuttle service around the property—it made getting up and down the hill effortless. The pools were warm and well-maintained. The food was delicious and had a home-cooked feel. Dinner included options like rice, pasta, potato wedges, vegetables, and chicken or fish. Breakfast offered traditional rice and beans, sweet plantains, eggs, pancakes, salami, fruit, and cereal. Lunch featured arroz con pollo, white rice, ribs, and salad. And the tres leches dessert was amazing! Coffee was always available, and alcoholic drinks were included—shoutout to the friendly bartender who made a caipirinha so good I wanted another! The only downside was the shuttle. Pickup from the airport is free, but return is not. It also isn’t 24hr (available from 7am–10pm). Paid $80 one way

Best hotel stay ever..

The Riu Guanacaste was beautiful. This place is huge. The grounds were kept clean and nicely maintained. The rooms looked brand new. We had a king size room with an oceanfront view. Honestly, don’t waste your money on the oceanfront room. Not much ocean to see and very far away. Nice to see the sunset tho. I would have liked the pool view better. Room was clean and always made up when we came back from an excursion. The only issue was the smell that came from the toilet every time you flushed. It was a nasty, stinky almost sulfur smell. I heard a lot of people saying the same thing. Reading other reviews a lot of them had the same problem. Not sure what the issue was but pew!! Everything as super clean including the hallways and the elevators. Didn’t see garbage anywhere. The elevators were super warm and humid which didn’t make us happy. The beach at the Riu is nothing to be desired. The day we got there we went down to check it out and that was the first and only time we went there. The sand is dark gray. Fine. The water isn’t appealing at all. The beach looks and feels dirty. There are many people trying to sell you things. A couple of lounge chairs. Not somewhere you want to do a beach day at and bring your kids and have lunch IMO. Looks like a beach where homeless people hang out at. That was a huge disappointment. Overall it is a beautiful hotel and would definitely recommend if you can ignore the sulfur smell and the gross beach.

This is our new favorite hotel in the entire country! Five star all the way, the best staff I’ve experienced anywhere, attention to every detail and thorough anticipation of the guests every need. The views alone make the stay unmatched but when you combine the five star dining, service and overall vibe of this immaculate property the Casa Chameleon experience is exceptional and will be very hard for other hotels to match.

This is a very nice place to stay with a family. Modern, clean, spacious, comfortable. Th process to get a golf cart was very easy and the location is pretty close to the center of Tamarindo. I recommend this place for a family staying in Tamarindo. We were very comfortable and it felt like our little private Oasis in the middle of the hot and humid busy city chaos. There are horses in the front and cats on the property, which my kids loved. Beware of mosquitos and blast your AC so they stay away. The most amazing perk of this property is the access to Langosta Beach Club. We went to other " famous" beaches like conchal /flamingo but the Langosta Beach club was the only beach with full amenities and comfort.

It was the most peaceful and serene place in this side of the costa rican pacific, the staff was amazing, the food was super healthy and delicious , the entire place is just magical. The beach is super clean and literally yours only. I would come back every time I’m in Costa Rica.

Beautiful property and room! The pools are plentiful and never felt crowded—we saw a monkey! Treat yourself to an evening sunset by the lobby bar—breathtaking! The beach is ona beautiful cove. My kids enjoyed the rocky areas for “tidepooling” for hermit crabs, fish, etc. There is a nice reef right off the beach where daily snorkeling activities are available. We saw a puffer fish, some colorful tropical fish and a spotted ray. Note the beach is public, but the locals are friendly and not loud. There are no loungers down close to the ocean (a little higher up on the sand close to the property, but not many people sat there). It was a tad of an annoyance to see 9 jet skis in the cove almost everyday. They are for rental. My family did enjoy them one day, however, 2 or three would suffice. 9 surely took away from the tropical island feel and I looked forward to each evening when they disappeared. The room was luxurious and had everything you needed. We did purchase a 2 queens room with a small plunge pool—in hindsight sight we did not use it much and we noticed these pools were only on the first floors (preventing a better view). It did seem like there were only a few larger suites with a corner pool on the upper floors of buildings). The dining was pretty good. The breakfast spread at TicoTica was great and unexpected. We enjoyed Peacock Alley to watch the World Cup USA game—a great vibe. Kids enjoyed the pool with the slide and the teen room was cool. Pura Vida!
