Excellent Hotel .. would recommend.

Very enjoyable stay. We received a free upgrade to a superior room which was a nice surprise, all the staff we encountered were professional, friendly and attentive. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. Hotel in a very pleasant countryside setting. Nothing to find fault with, would definitely stay there again.

Noisy wedding disturbance

Staff always first class. Hot classic room in the old part of the hotel. Booked a classic room but was hoping for the new side as cooler. Also noisy wedding event outside the window. Non wedding guests would be better suited away from the event.

Beautiful Property next to University of Essex

A beautiful property with a lovely historical charm- though a bit on the expensive side. The reception team was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I stayed in the Hilton room for a night before my graduation at the University of Essex, and it made the occasion feel even more special.

Excellent hotel. I was very impressed by it all. Our room was the Charles Gooch Suite, which was so lovely and extremely large, perfect as we had our 4 year old son with us, who slept on the pull out sofa. I love how the hotel keeps the period features of the house so well, yet of course has all the modern facilities. Overall: spotlessly clean, helpful staff, comfortable beds, beautiful room, i would definitely recommend/return if in the area

Lovely Hotel

Lovely hotel. Our room the Brettingham was lovely. The weather was lovely so we were ablebto enjoy some drinks out on the garden terrace. The staff were all really friendly right feom check in to check out! We had breakfast in our room. We had a full english and it was huge and really great quality food! Will definitely comw back again 😁
