The staff were exceptionally friendly and the bed was very comfortable. A nice and quiet place that was very charming in its style. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the city.

A quaint old-fashioned hotel in a quiet back street very close to Koln Central Station, cathedral, and the old town. Breakfast buffet very plentiful, with mature staff making the stay pleasant.

Only 6 minutes walking distance from Cologne Central station, super comfortable bed (best nights' sleep I've had), good shower pressure, all in all would highly recommended. Would have been good to have kettle and tea making facilities in the room but there was a hot water dispenser in the reception (which I didn't use).

The hotel is in a handy location. There's on-street parking about an 8 minute walk away for €5 per day (if you're unable to reserve a free hotel spot, Clever Str is an almost straight walk to the hotel, only turning onto the hotel street). Central station and the cathedral are only a few minutes away also. Everything was clean, the breakfast was a decent, continental style selection (and a pain au chocolate for later) and the staff are helpful and can keep your room key behind the desk while you are out. The biggest grumble was having a shared bathroom - 1 or 2 per floor. It wasn't a huge deal, but if someone is using the toilet or showering, you have to go to other floors. But as a stop off and resting point, it was great. We were there to see the city, didn't need the hotel to have anything too special.

The hotel was very nice inside, and the staff was helpful and kind. There's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your bags up some stairs. The street outside got a little loud in the morning, but was not bad overnight. Convenient location right near the train station!

For a quick one nite stay it’s ok. Front desk said free parking was supposed to be reserved in advance - which I didn’t but they still allowed me to park free. The hotels.com app doesn’t mention such - I think. Street noise was a little loud but for the price not a bad quick stay.

Room was smelly like a smoker-room, the receptionist could not care less, very bright yellow neonlight-signage of the hotel straight in front of room window lit the room all night and attracted flies and bugs to the room window, filthy carpet floor in rooms and corridors, toilet flush in both shared bathrooms did not work properly, one shared bathroom without door, request for 30 min later checkout rejected by quite ruthless manager-owner
